Lohja 〜 The city of experiences 〜 Wellbeing and nature

Post Tour 12.-14.5.2020 Lohja is a lakeside city full of experiences. Only one hour drive away from Helsinki, Lohja is located right in the middle of the verdant nature of Helsinki region. At Lohja, you are able to descent 80 meters deep into the ground at the Tytyri Mine Experience or paddle on peaceful riverside surrounded by the nature´s whispers. Enjoy your time by relaxing in well kept gardens, on the shore of the Lake Lohja and in the arms of mother nature, for example by sitting under the most beautiful tree in Finland: the Oak of Paavola. Lohja will for sure leave a lasting impression on its guests. F.ex This tour is recommended for tour operators from Japan or Middle-Europe who are handling mostly group travel. This programme is usually suitable for small groups from 8-16 persons. Now as a posttour this is maximum to 6 persons.

10:30 Departure from the bus stop in front of Kiasma Modern Art Museum

The tour starts from Helsinki, where from the cozy minivan from EK Event leads you into the one hour journey towards the City of Lohja. During the drive you’ll hear the highpoints of the window view and of course a great intro into the secrets of Lohja guided by the Virve Haahti the Guide

11:30 Arriving to Kisakallio Sport Institute, check in

The Kisakallio Sports Institute is situated 10 km from the Lohja city centre. It offers versatile sports opportunities, nature paths, a lean-to, a swimming pool, two saunas by the lake and a beach. Approx. 250 beds of which 44 of hotel standard, 148 of institute standard and 60 new campus beds.

12.30 Departure to the Tytyri Mine Experience and lunch

Tytyri Mine Experience is a unique and multi-faceted travel destination 110

metres below ground level, combining the Nordkalk mining industry, Kone’s

world-class technological development, and the adventure and thrills of a travel

destination. Far below ground in the Tytyri Mine Experience is the Tytyri Hall,

where conferences and celebrations can be held in a pretty extraordinary

setting. The Tour Operators will have lunch operated by Lohjan Juhlaserviisi in

this unique atmosphere after the guided tour in the mine.

Kettukallio offers all kinds of experiences and activities from the length of hours to few days. Elämystila is built amongst Finnish nature. You can see beautiful woods reflected from the forest pond and enjoy the silence of nature. With the hosts of Kettukallio The Tour Operators will make walk and have a coffee break at the surrounded nature area. There is also possibility to try the Finnish tradition smoke sauna and take a dip in the pond or the hot tube outside under the stars. We spend the evening by the campfire enjoying the dinner.

13.00 Guided tour along the shoreline with EK Event and hosted by Virve Haahti the Guide

We take the direction to the Lohja Island by the minivan. On the way you will see

and hear about our lovely city. We also make pit-stop in one of our summer-

shops, Josefiina’s Granary which is a grocker’s former warehouse builded up

1892. In the shop you can buy antique souvenirs or a high quality linen and

garments made from flax.

18.30 Departure and journey towards to the historical ironworks starts

The first ironworks, the historical industrial sites were established in Western Uusimaa in the 1700th century. What these ironworks did and why, you’ll hear at the same time we are travelling towards the Svartå Manor. The manor is one of the most valuable manors in Finland and its history goes back over 200 years. The present main building of the manor was built by Magnus Linder (1751-1801). The accommodation will be in the one of five different historical buildings situated in an idyllic park with a scenic river flowing nearby in single rooms. The museum in the Svartå Manor shows the long history of the place. The interior is restored to its original state with its different tiled stoves,Gustavian furniture and of course the original parquet floors. The guide describes the history and the interesting personalities connected to Svartå Manor. The wooden castle is embedded in one of the biggest private historical parks of Finland. Originally it was designed as a baroque park in 1787 but in the late 19th century Friedolf Linder renewed the park into an English style of park. He planted many exotic trees from all over the world, which are unusual species for Finland. The park is nowadays a retreat for the soul with
