Job Title: Service Manager -(Employment and Training)
Location: Flexible
Responsible to: Deputy Chief Executive
Responsible for: Employment and Training Staff Team
Salary: NJC Scale PO1 (SCP Scale 33-36)£29, 909 - £32,233 per annum (1st April 2018)
JOB OUTLINE:
To lead and manage DRC’s Employment and Training Services and funded programmes
To line manage, supervise and appraise Team Leaders; Project/Service Co-ordinators and other staff as directed
To ensure DRC’s contract obligations to partner organisations and funders are met
To build and sustain positive relationships and links with external stakeholders, and
To promote good practice in involving and empowering service users To take an active role in the wider organisation
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Management
To provide effective leadership and management to the Employment and Training Team by being actively involved in the delivery of all employment and training programmes and developing a broad and deep knowledge of service requirements and outcomes.
To support workforce planning, resourcing and monitoring of key service functions
To ensure DRC services are delivered to the highest possible standard and performance through good management and supervision
To monitor and report service and project budgets, in liaison with the Finance and Monitoring Officer and Deputy Chief Executive.

To provide support, advice and guidance to staff making day-to-day decisions To ensure DRC services are actively marketed and promoted in line with
DRC’s marketing and branding requirements and linked in with other agencies.
To promote good practice through involving and empowering service users. To maintain close involvement in management, delivery and reporting of
funded projects including regular assessment visits and spot checks. To oversee the recruitment and induction of key staff To input on tendering and funding bids. To ensure that robust systems and processes are in place to ensure effective:
Liaison with partner agencies and stakeholders Data collection and systems for service monitoring and evaluation Staff recruitment and selection and induction Staff supervision, appraisals and training Health and Safety Organisational policies are adopted and followed
Liaison and Development work
To work collaboratively with DRC’s partner organisations to ensure close liaison and effective joint working.
To publically represent DRC and attend external meetings when required to build interest in DRC and its mission.
To ensure the experiences of DRC staff and service users inform service planning and consultation processes.
In liaison with the Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising and Marketing to prepare, monitor and report to external organisations and funders as required.
To engage in networking and other activities to identify and build relationships with partners; commissioners and funders to secure and/or expand DRC’s income streams.
Extended Management Team
Working with the Deputy Chief Executive, to contribute to the overall management and performance of DRC’s service portfolio and to the work of the Strategic Management Team.
To contribute to the organisations strategic planning, policies and procedures, financial planning and performance management.
To report project progress against objectives; activity, budget and agreed outcomes.
To deputise for the Deputy Chief Executive as required.
Quality
To ensure all services and programmes operate within DRC’s approved standards.

Working with the Deputy Chief Executive as required on the attainment and
retention of various quality standards.
Working with the Deputy Chief Executive as required on the implementation of DRC’s service user involvement arrangements.
Other responsibilities
To provide written and statistical reports to the Board of Directors, Chief Executive and external partners and funders when required
To work within DRC’s adopted policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality Responsibility for asset management including the development of an asset
register that includes all key information, software, hardware and services in line with the Information Governance Standard.
To attend regular supervision and participate in annual appraisals To attend training as appropriate. To contribute to the general work of DRC as directed and as appropriate. Some evening and occasional weekend work will be required This post is likely to change over time in discussion with the post-holder To undertake other duties commensurate with the scale of the post with
regards to project duties on the BBO Evolve project as Evolve Project Manager
To undertake other duties commensurate with the scale of the post with regards to project duties on the BBO Bridges project as Bridges Project Manager
This post will require the post holder to work with vulnerable adults.An enhanced DBS disclosure check will therefore be required.
