The top sixteen (16) finishers in each individual and relays shall advance from the District Qualifier to the Regional 5Championship.CompetitorsshallonlyadvancefromtheDistrictQualifierintotheRegional5NationalQualifierintheeventsthattheyactuallycompetedandqualifiedattheDistrictlevel.

RESTROOMFACILITIES:Restroomfacilitiesareavailableattrack&fieldvenue.

HIPNUMBERS:Hipnumberswillbeissuedbyclerkofthecourseandarerequiredforallrunningeventcompetitorsduringtheirevent.Theclerkofcoursewillindicatewhichsideandlocationtowearthehipnumbersatcheck-intime.

THROWINGIMPLEMENTS:Athletesareresponsibleforprovidingtheirownimplementsforuseduringcompetition.However,personalimplementsmustbecheckedinpriortocompetition.Implementcheck-inwilloccurnearthefieldeventarea.

ATHLETEWARM-UP:Therewillbeadesignatedareaforathletewarmup.Thetrackwillopenonehourpriortofirstrunningevent.

ATHLETECHECK-IN:Itisathletes’responsibilitytohearcallsandreporttoeventvenueonfirstcallfortheirdivision.Fieldeventathletesshouldreportdirectlytofieldeventvenue.Trackeventathletesshouldreporttoclerkofthecoursearea.

RUNNINGEVENTRULES:Alleventswillrunasafinal.The4x400mrelayswillrunathree-turnstaggerwithuptoeight(8)teamsperheat.The4x800relayswillrunaone-turnstaggerwithUpto16teamsperheat.Combiningheats/divisionsisatthediscretionofMeetDirector.FIELDEVENTRULES:Eachcompetitorwillhaveatotaloffour(4)attemptsforthrowsandhorizontaljumps.Therearenoprelimsandfinalsinfieldevents.AthleteswhomustleaveforanothereventmustcheckoutwithFieldEventOfficial.Theseathletesmayalsorequesttotakeattemptsinsuccession.Inverticaljumps,withinadivision,oncethebarmovesup,itwillnotmovedownforanyreason.Ifexcusedduringaroundtheathletemustreturnpriortoconclusionofthatroundorforfeitremainingattempts.

AWARDS:AAUChampionshipMedalsareawardedtothetopthree(3)finishersineacheventanddivision.Awardscanbepickedupatawardstentapproximately30minutesafterconclusionofeachevent.Medalswillnotbemailedtotheathlete’shomeorheldforpickupafterthecloseofthemeet.Itistheresponsibilityofathlete,coachorparenttopickupawardsbeforeleavingthemeet.

FOOD/DRINK/COOLERS:Concessionsareavailable.NOGRILLS,DEEPFRYERSOROTHERCOOKINGAPPARATUSALLOWEDoutsidetheappointedconcessionarea.Team/Athletecoolerswillbeallowed,however,NOGLASSCONTAINERSarepermitted.Allcoolers,bags,backpacks,andduffelbagsaresubjecttoinspectionbysecurity.EVENTSCHEDULES:FinalMeetSchedulewillbepostedafterentriesclose.Eventorderwillnotchangebutstarttimesmaydifferbasedonnumberofentries.Agegroupsofsamegendermaybecombinedindistanceraces/walks.EventScheduleswillbeavailableatregistration.

VENDING:Concessionsandvariousvendors(commemorativet-shirts,photographer,etc)willbeonsite.

WEATHER:AveragehightemperatureinVirginiaduringthemonthofJuneisinthemidtohigh90’ssobepreparedbecauseitwillbeveryhot.

INCLEMENTWEATHER:MeetDirectorhastheoptionofdelayingortemporarilyhaltingmeetintheeventofbadweatherandresumingwhenweatherpermits.FormatofmeetmaybeadjustedafterweatherdelayatthediscretionoftheMeetDirectorandGamesCommittee.

MEDICAL/SECURITY:EmergencyMedicalpersonnelareoncall.Athletictrainerswillbeavailableforathletes.Iceandwaterwillbeprovidedforinjuriesonly.Athletictrainerswillnottapeathletespriortocompetition.AthleticTrainersareonlyavailableincaseofinjury.

Securitywillbepresent.

FLUIDS:Meetmanagementwillprovidewaterincertaincompetitionareasforcompetingathletes.Itisstronglyencouragedthatathletes,teams,coaches,andparentsbringplentyofwaterwiththem.
