The town of "Lo de Marcos" is located in the Municipality of Bahía de Banderas. Its population is made up of 1792 inhabitants, 882 men and 910 women. Its topography is composed of 2 areas, the 1st is a flat area mostly located 3 meters above sea level and the 2nd is a mountainous area.

The southern border is next to the municipality of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco which is considered the second most important economic zone in the state of Jalisco and the third most important harbor in Mexico. Currently, it is one of the most visited places in the country.
