The need for a computerized language laboratory isstill imperative since most schools and universitiesare going into computerization and user-friendlytechnology, however, the cost of producing suchfacility is still very expensive and may run to millions
considering the state of the art involved. The localexperts at West Visayas State University havedeveloped such system at a much lower cost.
Most importantly, such lab in the modern day BPOs
and call centers will boosts the local industry interms of technicalities.

The Digital Language system in the speech laboratory issupported by analysis software which may be accessedremotely from a large number of networked machines.In addition there are powerful multimedia PCworkstations for use with PC-based corpora anddatabases.

Multi-channel Data Platform is the lab's multi-channel
data. Digital Language system is able to sample frommultiple data sources with simultaneously pairing. Directto disk saving of exercises and lessons can be doneindividually.

Easy to operate because it is software base no any
proprietary hard ware required. No additional gadgetrequired.
As long as there is a desktop PC available in the market thesoft ware will run.
Current language lab system requires proprietaryhardware and other devises needed for the set-up. Theproblem is maintenance and support of the equipment.

The locally-made digital language laboratory enablesthe University to develop is very own language facilityand is designed to be user friendly as well as a cheaperand innovative system made available to local
conditions including the upgrading of the hardwareand software. The language laboratory which will bedeveloped in collaboration with local languageexperts can be fully developed or customizedaccording to the needs of the local clients as well asstudents of various intellectual levels. The system isnot dependent on proprietary hardware, meaning aslong as desktop pc is available in the market thesystem can still exist .
