What are the words above about? They are different groups of
Christians. Although all of them are Christian, they believe
slightly different things, e.g. Roman Catholics believe women
should not be allowed to be priests, Church of England (Anglicans)
does let women be priests, and Quakers dont believe in having
priests! Some Christians think more should be done to bring all of
the denominations together and this belief is called ecumenism. LO:

View 1 EXCLUSIVIST CHRISTIANS "I am the Way, the Truth, and the
Life. No one comes to the Father except by me" (Jesus, in Johns
gospel If you dont believe in Jesus as the Lord Saviour of the
earth then you cannot get to God or Heaven. There is only one
saving truth, namely the good news of Jesus Christ. Like a one-way
route to heaven. Belief in Jesus Christ is the only true way
Slide 7
VIEW 2: INCLUSIVIST CHRISTIANS Other religions may have part of
the truth and be searching for the whole truth Some people dont
know about Jesus. Some Christians believe that other religions may
have part of the truth They believe that other religions are not
wrong but are different ways of searching for the truth.
Slide 8
VIEW 3: PLURALIST CHRISTIANS All religions are equally or
nearly equally valid Like different paths up a mountain all reach
the same summit. Religions have the same aims and the same ideas of
God and right and wrong Jesus said In my Fathers house there are
many rooms
Slide 9
Evangelism Christianity is an evangelical religion. Matthew
28:16-20 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the
mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him,
they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them
and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.
Slide 10
Ecumenism is the idea that all the different groups of
Christians should be united together. Believers in ecumenism
encourage Christians to unite and worship God and forget their
differences.
Slide 11
Taize in France is a small village that is made up of
Christians from all different countries and denominations who pray
together and aim to bring Christianity closer together instead of
it arguing about different things such as should women be priests,
homosexual relationships, which Churches have the most authority!
