Below is an example of the Account Settings tool for Campus application users.

Image 10: Establishing Account Security Preferences

If Password Reset functionality is enabled, strong passwords are automatically enforced and users are required to create a password that is at least eight characters long and meets three of the four qualifications listed:

• A lower case letter (a, j, r, etc.) • An upper case letter (A, J, R, etc.) • A number (3, 7, 1, etc.) • A symbol (@, %, &, etc.)

In order for a user to recover their forgotten password, a valid Security Email address must be provided and eight Dislike and Like images must be selected. Dislike and Like images are used to confirm the user's identity during password recovery. Users must select eight Dislike images and eight Like imagines in order to save. The email address entered must be valid in order to recover a forgotten password.

Recovering Passwords via the Forgot Your Password Link

If a user is part of a school or district which has Password Reset functionality enabled, they may recover their password using the Forgot Your Password? link (see Image 11).

If the school or district does not have Password Reset functionality enabled, a message will appear informing users of the steps they must take to recover their password (often this means calling the school or district to correct the issue).

Image 11: Forgot Your Password Link

Once the Forgot Your Password? link is selected, the Reset Your Password editor will appear (see Image 12).

Image 12: Entering Your User Name

Enter your Username and select the Next button. The Reset Your Password editor will refresh and inform you to check your email for a unique URL which needs to be selected in order to move on to the next step. It is critical that the email address established on the user account is valid. Users with an invalid email address will be unable to finish the password recovery process. The user account email address is established during the initial setting of preferences as well as managed on the Account Management tool.

Image 13: Example of an Email Containing a Unique Password Reset URL

The image above (Image 13) is an example of the email a user will receive. Select the URL or copy/paste it into a web browser to continue the password recovery process. A district contact phone number will also be provided in case additional help is needed.

If you never received an email from Campus containing your username or if you want to enter a different email, select the Try Again button and enter another email address (Image 18)

The image below is an example of the username recovery email you will receive.

User Incorrectly Attempts to Log Into Campus Multiple Times Users who incorrectly log into their account multiple times will be required to enter a CAPTCHA. This feature prevents users from being locked out of their account after several failed login attempts and protects accounts from malicious bots and scripts.

Account Management (Portal) The Account Management tool allows users to change their existing account password, update their account email address and modify their Like and Dislike images which are used when recovering a forgotten password.

Image 1: Portal Account Management Tool (Password Reset Enabled)

Modifying Account Security Preferences (Password Reset Enabled) 1. If you would like to change your account password, enter a New Password and Verify the New

Password. The box to the right of each of these fields indicates the strength of the new password. Red means weak, yellow means medium and green means strong. Users will not be allowed to save a red or yellow password.

2. If you would like to modify your Likes and Dislikes selections made when first setting up your account preferences, select each Like and Dislike image to be removed in the Your Selections area. You will need to replace these selections and ensure a total of 8 Likes and 8 Dislikes images populate the Your Selection area prior to saving.

3. Enter your Email address if the existing email address on the account is incorrect. This must be a valid email address. Password recovery is done through a unique URL sent to this email address. Failure to provide a legitimate email address means an inability to recover your password.

4. Enter your Current Password. Changes to security preferences cannot be saved unless the user's existing password is entered.

5. Once all updates have been made, select the Save Changes button. Your account security preferences are now updated.
