School Band are busy rehearsing for several concerts in the summer term and we look forward to hearing from them.

School Sleepover This will take place this evening and we are very much looking forward to it. We have a full programme for the evening and just hope the children will enjoy having fun on what will hopefully be a sunny evening.

Thank you…to several members of staff who have spent an awful lot of their Spring Bank holiday making sure that school was ready for the return. We have had a new roof on Hooters/Music Room both internally and externally. In addition to this we have had the lighting improved around the building and new interactive whiteboards installed in the whole of the upper school. Thank you especially to Mr Hunt and Mr Hurst for everything. Mrs Lyall has been busy overseeing everything as always and making sure we get value for money.

New Parent’s Evening for children joining us in September 2016 is next week on Thursday at 6pm. Please remind anyone who you know that this is an important evening for them to attend. They will not only have the opportunity to look around the school but will be bale to meet staff teaching their children next year and order uniform too.

Following on from Daniel Brown’s meeting with Craig Whittaker MP our local MP visited school today and took part in a question and answer session with the children in Y5. We do thank Craig very much for giving his time up. I’m sure the children made the most of this opportunity to ask some really searching questions.

We love to see our families in the school library and here are the story boys with dad enjoying their books. I asked the question about how many families read with their children…do you?

Creative Arts This enjoyable annual LJS event is nearly upon us and we are looking out for talented children who would like to take part either by playing their instrument, singing or dancing. In the past we have had some amazingly talented children and I don’t anticipate this year being any different.

Build yourself a bike Daniel Brown has made himself a bike from scrap materials and the dream machine is pictured above. I know that Daniel has also stripped down a real bike with his dad and this is road worthy now. Clearly Dan is a mechanic in the making. Ive already booked my car in with him for its MOT!
