LKS Parent Council 2017 to 2018 Dear LKS families, It’s hard to believe we’re at the end of another great school year! Parent Council is very appreciative of the generosity of our school community. Your contributions make the many supplemental programs and resources possible for our students. We had a busy and productive year that included four major fundraising initiatives: the online donations through the Annual Giving Campaign raised over $27,000, our most successful Parent Social ever at the Crooked Cue raised over $15,000, the ever-popular monthly Pizza Lunches raised $20,000, and our largest event of the year was Springfest raising over $27,000. The total amount raised (over $90,000) is allocated to two major areas for Parent Council: operating budget and non-recurring budget/special purchases. The operating budget provides funding for the following programs and resources above and beyond the traditional curriculum: • Forest of Reading • Author visits • Mobile Ontario Planetarium • Theatre; Duffle Bag, Tribal Vision Dance • Health & Wellness; Youth Wellness Network, Toronto Argo’s Huddle Up Bullying Prevention • Grade eight graduation • Phy- Ed; tabletop scoreboard, batting helmets, softballs, basketballs, volleyballs, pinnies, ball cart and referee fees. • Music; instrument repairs & supplies & classroom worksheets, songs & activities • Scientist in the School for each class • Classroom Fund For the 2017-18 school year, the non-recurring budget provided funding for the purchase of: • Three carts of Chromebooks, one for each division (1-3, 4-6, 7/8) • iPads • IXL and RAZ Kids licenses

LKS Parent Council 2017 to 2018

Dear LKS families,

It’s hard to believe we’re at the end of another great school year!

The operating budget provides funding for the following programs and resources above and beyond the traditional curriculum: •ForestofReading •Authorvisits •MobileOntarioPlanetarium •Theatre;DuffleBag,TribalVisionDance •Health&Wellness;YouthWellnessNetwork,TorontoArgo’sHuddleUpBullying Prevention •Gradeeightgraduation •Phy-Ed;tabletopscoreboard,battinghelmets,softballs,basketballs,volleyballs, pinnies, ball cart and referee fees. •Music;instrumentrepairs&supplies&classroomworksheets, songs&activities •ScientistintheSchoolforeachclass •ClassroomFund
