The Most Holy Trinity
W elcome! We are glad you are here to join us in worship in the celebration of the Eucharist (Mass). At the Eucharist, the Church comes together to hear the Word of the Lord, to pray for the world's needs, to offer the sacrifice of the Cross in praise and thanks to God, to receive
Christ Jesus in communion, and then to be sent forth in the Spirit as disciples of the Gospel. If you are not familiar with the Mass, the Order of the Mass can be found on pages 3-29 of the Breaking Bread hymnal. We call particular attention to the text of the Gloria on page 6 and the Nicene Creed on page 9. The scrip-ture (Bible) readings for today's Mass can be found on page 174

Father Scott's May Prayer Intentions
That we may show reverence and love to our mothers, who have given us life and love.
That the children who are celebrating First Holy Com-munion this month may rejoice in the happiness of re-ceiving the sacrament of the Eucharist.
That the Holy Spirit will give our staff and Pastoral Plan Writing Team light and strength to know His will, to make it their own, and to live it in their lives.
For those affected by the earthquake and aftershocks in Nepal.
That God will bless the new priests for the Archdiocese of Boston (May 23 ordinations) and make their priestly ministry strong, loving, and wise.
That God will be with our college graduates as they dis-cern their life's work and guide them in the way they are called to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
That we will honor those who have given their lives in defense of God's gift of freedom and embrace the respon-sibility and commitment called forth by this gift to the truth that all people have a fundamental dignity before God.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among
women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Question of the Week:
What is your understanding of power? Whom do you consider powerful?
Celebrating Children At Our Parishes
To the parents of our young children, may we suggest… • Relax! God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you
have to suppress it in God’s house.
• Sit toward the front where it is easier to see and hear.
• Quietly explain the parts of the Mass. • Sing the hymns; pray and voice the responses.
Children learn liturgical behavior by copying you and other adults.
• If you need to leave Mass with your child, please feel free to do so but please come back!
• Remember that the way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to church, to God, and to Jesus. Let them know that they are at home in this liturgical gathering.
• To the members of the parish...A smile and word of encouragement is always welcome to parents with small, active children.
If you have returned from your winter retreat and have not received your monthly envelopes, please
call the parish office at 978-465-3334 for Star of the Sea Parish or
978-388-0330 for Holy Family Parish
Pastoral Care to the Sick and Homebound Jacqui Hebert and Elaine Lareau, members of Star of the Sea Parish, have completed a 12-hour workshop, Pastoral Care to the Sick and Homebound, offered by the Archdi-ocese of Boston. Anyone interested in a future offering of this same workshop should contact Fr. Scott.

Preparing for First Communion
The First Communion curriculum is a two year pro-gram at Holy Family. We require that the children at-tend classes in the first grade and then move on to Grade 2 for preparation of First Reconciliation and First Communion. This ensures that our children are fully prepared to receive this Holy Sacrament in May of second grade. If you have a child entering the first grade and your family is not already enrolled in our religious educa-tion program; please contact Kathy in Religious Edu-
cation so you can be put on the registration mailing list. Kathy can be contacted at [email protected] or 978-388-0330. We also have a Kindergarten program for any children interested in attending classes on Sundays.
