the week of July 7-12 and this isalways a fun week. I will be goingwith the kids for the week andlook forward to seeing God movein the hearts of our kids.We are hosting VbS this year and
need your help in many ways tomake this a success. The theme is“Roar,” trusting in God, leaning onHim in every situation no matterwhat we are facing. First of all I askthat you will be in prayer for ourVBs week, that the kids who aresupposed to be there will come andhear the message of God’s love.May we get enough volunteersfrom both Living Word and Central.
May God bless the kids that attendand may the message make a realimpact on the kids attending. Thiswill be in the evenings from 5-8 PMJuly 21-25 and we will be servingsupper before the programmingstarts. Please come and invite yourneighborhood kids. Registrationsignups are the pink sheets on theback table in the fellowship hall. This is free.I pray a blessing on all the
youth of our church, that they willnot lose sight of Jesus during thesummer months. May they findtime for God by attending camp, church, VBs, reading the Bible andprayer. I will continue to pray foryou all.

Be Blessed, LW Quilters
Mary could take no credit for seeing Jesus. Her behavior on that Easter morning onlykept her from seeing him who was raised.
In fact, the only conclusion she could generate onher own was, “They have taken my Lord away!” shewouldneverhavecome toknow therisen Lordif not forJesus’Word. In the midst of her blind confusion, Jesuscalled her name and as he said “Mary,” her eyes wereopened. His single, solitary word had the power tocreate faith in one who was barren of hope. This story reminds me of sarah in Genesis. sarah
could not give a child to Abraham. Her womb wasdead. Yet in Genesis 18, the Lord appeared toAbraham and sarah in the form of three men andpromised that sarah would have a son within a year.
It was too good to be true. How they both must havedoubted. sarah laughed in disbelief, but the laughterbecame joyful celebration when their son appeared.God brought life from a barren womb. Mary, in the garden, was barren of hope. Her faith
was dead.Only thecoming ofthe sonallowedfaith andhope tospring
from that barrenness. Left to ourselves, we do notsee God’s presence. We cannot with our own eyessee Christ in our times of darkness. We are like Marywhen we look with our eyes and conclude that weare alone and abandoned. Then the spirit whispersour name and brings faith to a barren heart. Thisfaith is always a gift causing us to see what ournatural self never can, Jesus. We can only say, “I haveseen the Lord!”
