Celebrate Grandparents Day
We celebrate and give praise to God and
ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our
efforts to help young people hear and
embrace the gifts of the older generation.
We pray that both the young and the old
hear and embrace the Good News of our
Lord, Jesus Christ, so that we all may learn
to see with eyes that find God in every
aspect of our lives. Amen
Please pray for the safety of our loved ones serving in the military.

We celebrate
grandparents
this week!
Grandparents Pray, Play,
Proclaim provides
encouragement to all
“Grands” who shine
as an example of faith
to their families.
Forgive your neighbor’s injustice; then when you pray,
your own sin will be forgiven.

Prayer Garden
Now is the time to place your paver stone order to add to
our Prayer Garden. Applications are available in the
church lobby. Please note that we need a minimum of ten
stone orders before a request can be placed. For more
information, call Anita at (314) 434-1312, extension 4.
Virtual Book Discussion
Join the Daughters of St. Paul for a weekly virtual book
discussion on the insightful book, “Mary, Mother of the
Apostles: How to Live Marian Devotion to Proclaim
Christ” by Giuseppe Forlai on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.,
September 29 - November 17.
To register, email the sisters:
[email protected]. A link will be
sent to you to join meetings. For information and to order
the book, call (314) 965-3512; or stop by Pauline Books &
Media, 9804 Watson Road in Crestwood.
Mass Sign-Up
Parishioners who do not have a computer and would like
to attend Weekend Mass, may make a reservation by
calling the Pastoral Ministry Office at (314) 878-6492.
Parish School of Religion
The tentative date for resuming Parish School of Religion
is September 22. PSR will be mostly virtual for the first
semester. Printable registration forms are available on the
website. Forms are also available in the Church Lobby.
If your child needs to receive the Sacraments of
Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, please
register your child for PSR in their first grade year.
These sacraments are celebrated in their second
grade year. Likewise, children who plan to receive
the Sacrament of Confirmation should begin
instruction no later than their 7th grade year so they
may be confirmed in their 8th grade year. Adequate
time for faith formation is important for children
receiving the Sacraments.

Fr. Joseph Weber Installation Mass
The installation of our new pastor,
Reverend Joseph Weber, will take place on
Saturday, September 26. He will be installed
by Bishop Mark Rivituso in a private Mass.
The Mass will not be open to the public due to the
number of individuals attending, as strongly suggested by
the ritual. The Installation Mass recording can be viewed
on Sunday, September 27 at 9:30 a.m.
Faith Alive in the Home
St. John Bosco will be implementing the Faith Alive In
The Home program that will serve the families of
toddlers in our parish. FAITH is a peer-mentoring
program that trains parishioners to provide in-home visits
to parents of toddlers. Modeled on Parents as Teachers,
FAITH is also influenced by the Catechesis of the Good
Shepherd philosophy and methods.
We are looking for volunteers to serve as FAITH
facilitators for our parish. Fall training for facilitators
will take place over three Saturdays—October 10,
October 24 and November 14 from 9 a.m. until 12:30
p.m. at the Rigali Center. If you would like to be a
FAITH facilitator or want more information about this
opportunity, please contact Cindy Meirink at (314) 878-6492.
Life Chain Event
We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of
wars, of hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but
for us to kill each other. - St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
You are invited to pray and celebrate
Respect Life Sunday on Sunday, October 4
by participating in a Life Chain from 2 until
3 p.m. Participants will gather along the
sidewalk along Olive at Incarnate Word.
Since 1987, Life Chain is a nationwide peaceful and
prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing in
honor of 60+ million lives lost to abortion.
