What an inspiring couple of weeks! Last week we wrapped up our two week gratitude campaign here at Live Oaks! If you’ve visited our school recently, you proba-bly noticed that our gratitude wall quickly filled up and new walls were created all over the school.
Our Look for the Good Project was more than just practicing daily gratitude. “You Matter” cards were shared within our community and passed on as the card holder wished. Students also wrote a You Matter letter to an im-portant person in their life.
We celebrated with an all school assembly Monday afternoon. All of our staff wore YOU MATTER shirts and several students were selected to share a gratitude Post-It and receive t-shirts.
Have a story to share about how the Look for the Good Project impacted your student or family? Please email Mrs. Etense at [email protected]. We’d love
to hear from you! ♥

Superintendent’s Award Recipients Fifth Graders Joseph Gaetano and Venice Montanaro awarded the
2015-2016 Superintendent’s Award for Live Oaks School!
Dear Families,
It was a pleasure to award two fifth grade students with the Connecticut Super-intendent’s Award on Wednesday evening at Jonathan Law. These students represent all of our students at Live Oaks School by showing that hard work, determination, and
kindness pay off. Our grade 3-5 students are showing their perseverance and endurance during the SBA testing this week and next. I encourage them to do their best and I tell them that I believe in them. I truly know that positive reminders from an adult that cares
about them can make a big difference in their performance. You can help them from home by making sure that they have a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast each morning before coming to school. Also, give them your words of encourage-
ment about their testing. Let them know that they should try their best and that they have been learning everything they need to know to take this test throughout their school experience.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. M.
