#2 Ice Fishing ExtravaganzaIce fishing has never been for the faint of heart...until now! Glamping has
struck the fishing world and ice fishing is no exception. Spend the afternoon
with GVLT Board Member Sam James and two native North Dakota fishing
guides learning the ways of the mysterious ice fishing world. The lucky winner
and three friends will be fully outfitted with gear and set up in a private,
luxury ice fishing shelter at the East Gallatin Recreation Area. At dusk (or
earlier!), you and your guests can head up the hill to MAP Brewing Co. to

#5 The sweet, simple things of life…The Homestead Act of 1862 paved the way for some of the first settlements
in Montana but it’s not too late to get in on the fun! This time, we're bringing
the homestead to you. Toby Day, MSU Extension Horticulturist, will help you
plant your own mini-orchard of heirloom fruit trees. MSU Horticulture Farm
Manager, David Baumbauer, will get your beekeeping career started with
your own hive. And what homestead would be complete without backyard
chickens? GVLT Board Member and backyard chicken wrangler Katy Harjes
of Willow Spring Ranch will help you set up your own backyard chicken
coop. Our experts will help with everything from choosing locations to
which varietals make the most sense for your property. Trees, bees, and
chickens all come with extensive training and resources to help you succeed.
Cashman's Nursery and MSU Extension are donating the heirloom fruit trees;
chicken coop, beehive, and beekeeping suit are being donated by Murdoch's
Ranch & Home Supply.

Jean Kahn is a Bozeman-based sculptor and fly fishing enthusiast and the
themes of rivers, birds, nature, and the art of fly fishing infuse her work.
She has studied at the Loveland Academy, the Cowboy Artists of America
Museum, and various workshops throughout the country.

Norris Junction, MT. - Red Elevators Oil painting on linen by Carol Guzman
Carol Guzman is a Bozeman-based painter and artist. Originally from
the mid-west, Carol studied Old Masters' techniques at Parsons School
of Design in New York City. Her subjects range from wildlife, still life,
landscapes and florals. She now lives in Montana with her husband, artist
Clyde Aspevig.
