Netball
Last Thursday our Beresfield Netball Team competed against Tenambit Public School in the PSSA Compe on. It was a fantas c day and the girls had an excellent experience visi ng another school and being able to represent Beresfield for netball.
The Beresfield girls showed strong defensive pressure against Tenambit who were very accurate with their goal shoo ng. Our intercepts and turnovers were high which meant the game was full of intensity. It was a great game to watch and all the girls showed true team spirit and sportsmanship. Although we do not move on to the next round it was good to see all the girls doing their best. Well done!
Thank you to the many parents on the day for your assistance with umpiring and transporta on. It would not be possible without your support.

Cross Country
Last Friday 31 of our students competed in the Zone Cross Country at Tocal college. We arrived just in me to walk the course due to road works. The children eagerly ran to officials to walk the course which definitely warmed them up. All the children ran well most coming in the top half of the field. Thanks to Michelle R for filling in at the last minute and congratula ons to Zak S who came a stunning 9th in his age group. Thank you also to the parents that arrived to show their support for their children and to the children for their excellent behaviour.
Well done to all of you.

Tips for tackling kids head lice
Use hair condi oner and a fine head lice comb.
Apply condi oner to the hair and comb through
with a wide‐toothed comb to remove the tangles.
Then use a fine metal lice comb to remove the lice
and pull the nits off the hair.
The condi oner helps slow down the louse and
makes it easier to comb out.

E‐Program‐ The E‐Program is designed to provide opportuni es to extend Gi ed and Talented
students in their field of talent. The program takes place every second Thursday and involves Year 5 and 6 students. Our school bus picks the students up for their day of learning and delivers them back to their school at the end of the day. As we know our students are not gi ed in every area of the curriculum so at Francis Greenway our approach is to deliver a student centred program as opposed to a class where all students are expected to ‘fit into a box’. The latest program was for students talented in the Crea ve and Performing Arts and as you can
see by their faces it was a great day of fun and learning.
Has anyone no ced the big van at our school?????? Each year we have the dental bus come and do a free dental check on all students. If any issues are found with a student’s teeth the family receives a le er with the details so they can arrange their own den st to follow up. The reason our school commits to this program is our holis c approach to the growth, development and educa on of our students. Good diges on begins with healthy teeth which promotes overall good health. A healthy body supports learning.
Our Homework Centre
Every Monday and Wednesday from 3.00 ll
4.30 pm our staff are available in the school
library to assist students with homework
and assessment tasks.
