9:00 am Helping With Our Services Today 10:35 am

Trinity’s Staff

NEW TO TRINITY? Helping people to worship God is important to us. We believe that worship is not a passive receiving, but an active encounter with Jesus who stoops to meet us as we worship. The Mostly Liturgical Worship Service at 9:00 am uses liturgy, hymns, worship songs, and silence to guide us in the worship of God. The 10:35 am Church From Scratch Worship Service blends all different types of music, arts, liturgy and free-form worship to help guide newcomers and experienced alike in the worship of God. During the Summer and on Family Worship Sunday, selected Sundays throughout the year, we come together as one worshiping family at 9:30 am.

A Nursery, (downstairs) is available for children two and under at both worship hours. A “Family Room” on the right side of the Sanctuary is available, as well.

Sunday Morning Children’s Christian Education

9:00 & 10:35: Children join their families in the Sanctuary for opening worship and “Learning with Our Children”, then proceed downstairs for class. The sign-in sheet at both hours is located in the main hallway outside the Sanctuary doors; sign-out downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Parents must sign their children in and out of all classes every Sunday and pick them up promptly after worship. This is particularly important after the 9 am service so our teachers can put away materials and set up for the 10:35 class. Thank you for supporting our teachers; you are always welcome to visit our classrooms.

Adult Christian Education Sunday morning and Midweek opportunities are available; check the calendar or contact Robin Olschner ([email protected]) for details.

Youth Ministries School year schedule - 9:00 am, Sunday Morning Breakfast Club (upstairs) for Junior & Senior High Youth. At 10:35 am, all Youth are encouraged to attend worship.

Youth Group Gatherings Things are coming together for meeting times as Abby continues to transition.

Pumpkin Patch at Trinity 10 am to 6 pm thru October 31

Trinity is hosting a Pumpkin Patch, in support with West Metro Partners, an interfaith Habitat for Humanity coalition. The proceeds will go toward a new Habitat home for a deserving, working family. There will be a great variety of pumpkins from the Navajo Nation in New Mexico; the Navajo cooperative receives 50% of the profits.

For more information, contact Judy Douglass: 303-946-5339 or [email protected].

Help spread the word so this new Habitat home can become a reality!

2018 Presbytery Leadership Retreat How does worship fit into our idea of Traveling Together . . . In Love? If you have gotten into a rut, isolated, lonely, bored with worship, perhaps you need to come to the November 9 - 10 Leadership Retreat at Highlands Camp and Retreat Center. Jana Childers, Dean of the San Francisco Theological Seminary, will help us to focus on why we worship and how worship brings us together in and through the love of God. If you are on a worship planning team, bring the whole team and be re-energized and inspired in the planning for your community. There is a $15 per person discount for groups of 3 or more from a single congregation; we also have full scholarships available, so don't let money be the reason you don't come. Register today at www.highlandscamp.org.

Severe Weather Shelter Network partners with organizations in the community to provide emergency overnight shelter on life threatening winter nights for individuals living on the streets. They work with local churches to provide sites to host guests overnight where they can enjoy a hot, homemade meal, as well as friendly conversation around the table. Aside from supplying a safe, warm environment overnight, we also connect our guests with other resources as their needs become known.

Trinity has been invited to join the team of volunteers from Spirit of Christ who will go to the host site at Cornerstone Church in Olde Town Arvada. If interested, please plan to attend an informational meeting at Spirit of Christ on October 25 from 7 to 8:30 pm in the John XXIII room downstairs.

Educational Forum Jeffco Ballot Questions 5A & 5B School Funding

Thursday, October 18, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm

Trinity Presbyterian Church, in partnership with City Council Members Nancy Ford and Dot Miller, will host an educational forum on the school funding ballot questions 5A & 5B. The language of ballot questions can be mind numbing! So come and hear clear explanations about the questions of increasing the Jefferson County Mill Levy and approving a Bond to fund Jeffco schools. Don't miss this opportunity to get better informed before you vote on such an important issue. Invite your friends to come, too.

On Monday evening, November 19 (time TBD, but

probably around 6 pm), join Pastor John and Memory Lamfers on a field trip to the Denver Women's Correctional Facility to participate in a Making Choices graduation ceremony. There’s no substitute for hearing first- hand how life-changing this program is, so take advantage of this is opportunity to hear testimonies and support these women who've completed the Booster program about positive decision-making. We’ll carpool from Trinity. Visitors need to be pre-screened by the Dept. of Corrections, so please let Pastor John know by October 22, if you'd like to come.
