On the occasion of the 91st World Mission Sunday, Pope Francis called for an Extraordinary Missionary Month. This is to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the promulgation of the Apostolic Letter Maximum Illud, with which Pope Benedict XV sought to give new impetus to the missionary task of proclaiming the Gospel”, thus responding to Jesus’s perennial command to “go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature” (Mk16:15). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With our  fall weather and  life  getting  into the  swing  of  things, we will be having our craft sale, with a new name  and  still  the

October is a beautiful time of year. Join your parish family to celebrate this lovely month at our Oktoberfest Parish Dinner. There will be wonderful food, and great conversation to be had and plenty of entertainment for the little ones. Please mark your calendars for 6:00pm on Saturday October 26th! Cost: $10.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids under 7.

Children are invited to dress-up like their favourite saint given how close we are to the All Saints Day on November 1 to win prizes. We hope to see everyone there. In order to ensure we have enough food please RSVP using the sign-up sheets available at all entrances of the church.

Our 50/50 Cash Raffle is moving along. To date, received monies for 490 and tickets, totaling $2,450. We have over 1,000 tickets out there where our terrific parishioners are selling them like crazy. We still have an additional 2,000

more tickets to be sold, and with everyone’s help we will get there. We had a bit of a slow start as we only started end of July. We have six more weeks so we have some work to do. Please contact the office or the ticket seller after Mass if you would like to get some books to sell or if you are available after Mass to sell at the door. Our draw for the raffle will be the last day of our craft sale, November 17.

Sale of tickets is “easy-peasy”, and we need your help with that. Because this is licensed, we can sell the tickets at places of work, schools, friends, and if you have any other ideas, pass them along. Just a reminder…

First prize - $7,500 Second prize - $500

Third prize - $200

Net proceeds will go to the church for maintenance of grounds, utilities, etc. Thank you in advance and good luck on the draw!

Let us give thanks to the LordWe thank thee, Lord,

For fields of grain

Gold and ripe from summer's rain,

For hillsides bright

With scarlet trees

That rustle in the autumn breeze,

For friends so dear,

For those we love,

For all things sent

From heaven above…

We thank thee, Lord
