Victor Salcido, Director of Human Resources, decided to replace their analog, black and white system--which was no longer funconing properly--with an updated soluon. The residence had it’s problems with graffi and wanted to do everything it could to pro- tect their large complex and the residence living inside. Victor contacted PhonesUSAplus about a new system. PhonesUSAplus was already his “go to” integrator for his IP telephone system and computer network and he was well aware of their success with IP-based secu- rity surveillance systems. Victor met with Thomas Loder of PhonesUSAplus and eventually decided on the exacqVision IP Camera Server with 6TB of storage by exacq technologies (www.exacq.com). “Our mission of hospitality calls us to welcome the needy elderly into our Home and to receive them as members of our own family, notes Salcido. “We welcome nearly 100 Resi- dents without regard to race or religion and provide four levels of care: Independent Living Apartments, Residenal Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. The need for a Security System in a healthcare facility such as Jeanne Jugan Residence is crical to protect the Residents, employees, visitors, volunteers and Lile Sisters. In addion, it is important to protect the grounds, buildings, capital assets and vehicles of the Home and visitors.” In addion to the powerful, easy-to-use exacqVision VMS soſtware, the staff of the Jeanne Jugan Residence also rely on the 3-megapixel image quality and auto focus features found in their 21 Panasonic cameras distributed throughout the complex. They have also ulized Arecont Vision’s unique 4-lens 180 degree 8-megapixel camera used to monitor their back parking lot. “The exacqVision system has allowed us to install digital, network security cameras located throughout the six acre property covering the four main buildings, the two exit/entrance gates, and six parking areas; and also provide real me feed to the recepon desk with more than adequate retenon,” adds Salcido. “The video quality is exceponal. The 24 Residenal Care units are private rooms for residents who require minimal assistance with medicine and personal needs. The 36 Assisted Living units are ideal for residents who require addional care such as assistance with personal care and ambulaon. Finally, the 27 Skilled Nursing units provide 24-hour personal and medical care by licensed, trained professionals. The Acvies Program includes arts and craſts and fitness programs, oungs and op- portunies for socializaon and intellectual smulaon. Regular medical service is provided for all Residents by a competent staff of doctors and nurses, along with a physical therapist, a podiatrist, a denst and a social worker.
