I know someone who I think should join the club. What’s the best way for me to do that?Invite them to join you for a meal, a drink, or at one of our events. Sharing your club by letting a friend or colleague experience it for themselves, is the best way to get someone to join. Membership packets are available in our lobby and on our website, www.petroclub.net There are several types of memberships – regular, associate, young professional, or military. Potential members can also ask for a tour of the club. Any members of our staff are happy to show interested people around and answer questions. Once someone decides to join, they must completely fill out the application and turn it into the front desk or email it to Vicki Myers, [email protected]. The application will be turned into the Membership Committee which meets once a month to accept new members. If accepted, the applicant will get a phone call welcoming them to the PCA.

ASK THE CLUBWe asked members to share their questions with us about the Club. Here are a few queries we received last month and the answers to them.

Do you have a question about the PCA? We want to hear from you! Fill out an Ask the Club card next time you visit or email your questions to Sheri Underwood, General Manager at [email protected], Tracy Dumas, Communications at [email protected] or Kristy Kemp, Events Coordinator at [email protected].

I heard the Club’s Events Coordinator, Kristy Kemp is going on maternity leave this month. Who’s filling in for her? The PCA’s Jessica Thomas will be filling in for Kristy, so please contact her at [email protected] if you need to book a holiday party, sponsor night, or other special event.

Jessica Thomas

Dear Members,

I want to start this month’s letter with a safety moment. School is back in session, buses are running, and kids are outside either walking to school or waiting at bus stops. Please drive carefully with purpose, follow the speed limits set in school zones and be safe. For some of you, kids back in school means more time to spend at the Club. Fortunately, there is plenty going on at the PCA this month to enjoy.

Highlights for September include a new event, Wednesday Night Wines. This will be a monthly wine tasting event with the first one on September 4th featuring all Pinot Noir, Old World vs. New World. $20 gives you a 3-ounce pour of four different wines in the lounge from 5:00-7:00 p.m. (or until gone). No reservations are required. A new season of football at the Club starts Sunday, September 8th. Chef John is working on a new brunch menu with breakfast, lunch, and snacks to keep you satisfied while you catch the games, so be sure to come hungry! Come back

to the Club for Monday Night Football as well, which starts on September 9th. Sponsorship opportunities are available on Monday nights to host a tailgate-themed party. Contact the Club at [email protected] to see how hosting a Monday Night Football party can work for you.

Into shooting? The Ron Allen Memorial Sporting Clays Shoot is coming up on Saturday, September 14th at the Birchwood Shooting Range in Chugiak. Please contact Tom Hendrix to register as a team or individual shooter. This is a great annual event to honor the memory of a well-liked PCA Member, Mr. Ron Allen.

RSVP for the Delmonico Steak Dinner, September 18th at 6:00 p.m. And ladies, be sure to attend our women’s networking dinner, Little Red Dress, on September 25th. The evening features two speakers – PCA Member Kathleen Redmond and her colleague, Heather Rhodes. Both work for

ACS and head up a women’s leadership group. Join your friends at the Club to hear these ladies speak, network with other successful Alaskan women, and enjoy a 4-course paired wine dinner. End the month with Fridays at Five, a monthly mixer featuring food, drinks, & live music. This fun event returns on September 27th. Finally, the patio will remain open as long as the weather allows, so be sure to take advantage of dining outside! Remember, the fire pits are there to keep it cozy as cooler temperatures settle into Southcentral, so enjoy the patio while you can.

I look forward to seeing you all around the Club at some of these wonderful events.
