Block Assembly 1. To make the eight 4-patch blocks, use the assorted 4½˝ Fabric A - H squares, laying out four different 4½˝ squares for each block.

2. Sew the blocks together to make each 8½˝ patchwork block (Fig. 1). Press in the direction of the arrows.

Quilt Top Assembly (Follow the quilt layout while assembling)3. Refer to the quilt layout to sew the eight 8½˝ patchwork blocks, ten 8½˝ Fabric I squares, corner and side triangles together to make the rows (Fig. 2).

4. Sew the rows together as shown inFigure 2 to make the quilt top.

Note: When sewing 4-patches to each other, it may be necessary to snip center of seam allowance and press seam in opposite directions. This will allow for“locking” or “nesting” seams.

Inner Borders 5. Sew three Fabric H strips end-to-end to make one pieced strip. Measure the sides of the quilt top. From the pieced strip, cut two strips to that length. Sew one strip to each side of quilt. Press toward the borders.

6. Sew the two remaining Fabric H strips to the top and bot-tom of quilt and trim flush. Press toward the borders.

Outer Borders 7. Piece the five Fabric K strips end-to-end to make one long outer border strip. Measure quilt top sides and trim two strips that length. Sew to sides of quilt.

8. Measure quilt top width and trim two strips that length. Sew to top and bottom of quilt. Press toward the borders.

Finishing9. Sew the six 2½˝ x WOF Fabric L strips together end-to-end with 45° seams to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

10. Quilt and bind as desired.
