Air Flow

• Custodians and teachers will open classroom windows before students’ arrival to

encourage circulation.

Surface Sanitization

• Desks and surfaces will be sanitized nightly. Maintenance will use multiple methods

of cleaning and disinfecting, including sanitizing and spraying of each classroom,

and cleaning all desk surfaces, chairs, and door handles. Custodians will also spray

each classroom every night.

• Classroom sanitization stations will be stocked with

hand sanitizer, wipes, and paper towels.

Hand Sanitization

• Teachers and students will be required to sanitize their hands before entering and

exiting the classroom, and before and after eating.

• Hand sanitizing stations will be available in the classroom and in all building

entrances and common areas.

Hand Washing

• Students will be required to wash hands throughout the day.

• Preschool students are required to wash their hands before

entering the classroom each morning. Parents will help their

child to do this at arrival time.

• Pre-K students will wash their hands in the classroom

sink when they arrive to school each morning.

• Every bathroom has been outfitted with at least

one no-touch faucet.

• All staff and teachers must wash their hands upon arrival for

the day, after breaks, after toileting or assisting a child with

toileting, and upon returning from the outside. Portable sinks in classrooms

Signage

• Signage will be posted throughout the Little Falcon Learning Center reminding

students and staff about safe, social distancing, face coverings, and hand sanitization.

• All restrooms will have age-appropriate signage and visuals instructing students how

to properly wash hands.

Temperature Screening

• We ask that parents check temperatures before children leave for

school.

• Students will have their temperatures screened before they enter the

school building. If a student has a temperature of 100 degrees or

above, he/she will be sent to the clinic and the nurse will call a

parent/caregiver to bring him/her home.

• Students will have their temperatures screened at lunch times.

Those with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will be sent home.

No-Touch Thermometer

We have purchased several Berrcom infrared

no-touch thermometers to screen students, staff,

and visitors before entering the school building.

Nurse’s Clinic and First Aid

• All preschool teachers, office secretaries, and administration are First Aid certified.

• All classrooms will be stocked with Band-Aids, gloves, and First Aid kits.

• There is a refrigerator on each floor for ice packs to limit traffic to the nurse’s clinic.

Face Coverings

• All teachers and staff are required to wear face coverings at all times.

• We strongly advise preschoolers and Pre-K students to also wear face coverings.

Manipulatives

• In addition to personal cubbies, each preschooler

has his/her own bin of manipulatives to use

throughout the week.

Desk Partitions

• Student tables will have taped dividers to remind students about proper social

distancing.

• These surfaces will be wiped down each evening and sprayed with a spray sanitizer.

Room Dividers

• The LFLC student-to-teacher ratio is 9:1.

• Classrooms are divided into class pods with physical dividers.

Assessment and Protocol for COVID-19 Symptoms

• Saint Rita School will staff a full-time nurse. In the event a student shows COVID-19

symptoms, the nurse will report the illness within 24 hours to the Cuyahoga County

Health Department.

• The Cuyahoga County Health Department will make recommendations for next steps.

In the Event of a Positive COVID-19 Case

• If a family member tests positive for COVID-19, parents must call the school office

immediately and report the case to the school’s COVID dashboard. The student will

be required to quarantine at home for 14 days.

• School administration will email families to let them know about the case.

Returning to School After COVID-19 or Other Illness

• Students must be free of symptoms for 24 hours.

• Students must be fever-free without the use of medication for 72 hours.

Arrival & Dismissal: 3’s Preschool

Car Riders

Students will enter in the main entrance of the Middle School between 8:00am and 8:15am.

Parents may ring the school buzzer, and they will be permitted to enter with their child. Parents

must wear a mask or face covering while in the building. Parents will proceed to the hallway on

the immediate right toward the restrooms and assist their child in washing his/her hands.

Parents will then proceed through the Gymnasium to the 3’s classroom. Only students will

enter the classroom. Parents will remain in the hall and exit past the office to the parking lot.

Bus Riders

Currently, the Twinsburg City School District is the only district that will bus preschool students,

and the student must have an older sibling on the bus. Bus riders will be dropped off and enter

through the main Middle School doors. All students will be screened for temperature before

entering the building. Any student with a temperature at or above 100 degrees will not be

permitted to attend school that day. Students will be sent to a quarantine room with the school

nurse, and parents will be contacted immediately to pick up their child.

Dismissal

Dismissal is from 2:15pm to 2:45pm to allow families time to exit the parking lot before grade

school students are dismissed. Physical distancing should be practiced when walking to and

from cars and busses.

Car Riders

Parents will pull into the parking lot located off Parkway Drive between 8:00am and 8:15am.

Students will exit the vehicle near the silver doors facing Parkway Drive with parents. All

students will be screened for temperature, and no student with a temperature at or above 100

degrees will be allowed in the building. Parents will exit the parking lot on Parkway Drive.

Bus Riders

Before and After School Care (Preschool ONLY)

Before and After Care

• Before care is available from 7:00am – 7:45am. After care is available until 6:00pm.

• Registration is required; drop-ins will not be allowed. This includes Falcon Friday.

• Parents will arrive in the main parking lot and walk their child to the main entrance of

the Middle School building.

• Parents will ring the buzzer outside the door, and they are permitted to escort their

children into the building.

• Parents must wear a mask or face covering when inside the building.

• Teachers and aids are required to wear face

coverings or masks.

• Students will be dismissed to their classrooms

at 7:45am.

Campus Guests and Visitors

Our school community thrives on the service and commitment of our wonderful

volunteers. Thank you to all of those who donate so much of their time, talent, and

energy to our school. To ensure the health and safety of our administration, teachers,

and students, we will need to limit visitors in the building this school year. For those

requiring entrance into the building, safety protocols will be enforced.

• Visitors will need permission by school staff to enter the building. Appointments

are appreciated and may be required.

• All visitors are required to wear a mask or face covering.

• All visitors will receive a temperature screening prior to entering the building.

• Any visitor with a temperature of 100 degrees or above or showing COVID-19

symptoms will not be permitted to enter.

• Visitors will be required to remain in the designated area of their visit.

Help Students to Prosper Academically

On-Campus Learning

Saint Rita School continues to hold accreditation with the state of Ohio for its outstanding

STEM mastery and integration. Students will continue to learn rigorous coursework in a

safe and challenging classroom environment.

• Teachers and staff are committed to exploring creative ways to teach

lessons and foster community within the classrooms.

• Students will remain in their designated workspace. Each student will

have his/her own designated supplies at the desk.

• Classroom manipulatives, games, and other academic objects may

be sanitized before being shared between classmates.

• Toys will be rotated throughout the preschool

on a strict, sanitization schedule.

• Specials teachers will rotate to the classrooms.

PE class will still be held in the Gymnasium.

Symptoms of COVID-19

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. These include:

• Fever or chills

• Cough

• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

• Fatigue

• Muscle or body aches

• Headache

• New loss of taste or smell

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Infected people have had a wide

range of symptoms reported, from mild symptoms to severe illness.
