It is believed that during the ancient days, imparting of education was done orally by the scholars to a privileged few. This form ‘Education 1.0’ was more of personalized dissemination mode rather than a mass model. To address the shortcomings of Education 1.0, during the 19th Century, an assembly-line driven Education system evolved which was scalable. Education 2.0 catered to the growing needs of industrial revolution. In the latter half of 20th century, a radical change took place in the Education domain with the introduction of IT labs and classrooms with interactive smart boards and digital contents, thus Education 3.0 evolved. Gradually, holistic education and experiential learning became the core of Education. Hence, in 21st Century, to cater to the needs of Generation Y, at Techno India Group Public Schools, we are in the process of adopting the pedagogy of collaborative experiential learning. Here, the focus is on Theme and Phenomenon-based learning, a move away from ‘Subjects’, wherein topics are being learnt in an inter-disciplinary approach. With Education 4.0, our objective is to make students future- -ready by value additions in the curriculum. Our emphasis ison Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and their implementation, integration of technology into teaching methods where educators will provide personalized learning, experiential learning involving real life scenarios, field visits, industry visits, excursions and introduction of the concept of “flip classroom”. In line with the vision of futuristic school,TIGPS will focus on making students industry ready by inviting industry experts as guest faculty and conduct corporate internship programs for students. In a nutshell, with the advent of Education 4.0, learning will no more be confined to the traditionally enclosed classrooms, that is, in actual sense, learning beyond boundaries.
