If someone had asked me 2 years ago did I see myself being a Publisher of a National Concierge Service magazine, I would have asked them, “Who me?”

It is indeed an honor, pleasure, and blessing to be in the position to publish a first class resource such as this one. Xtra Pair of Hands, LLC and I are a team with a passion to pursue the unthinkable and unimaginable. We believe that if you put your heart and determination into a vision, you can make it happen.
Relationships are so important in life whether its personal, business, or mixed. Relationships make a difference in every aspect of the word. How you treat someone when you first meet them can determine future acquaintances and possibly your prosperity. When I met Kym, I was excited that someone of her character was willing to take a chance to step out on faith, even further than where she was now. We both believe that “in order to grow, you must let go!’’ Sometimes you have to “let go” dead weight in order to reach your highest potential.
As the Publisher and CEO of “The Atlanta Bridge Builder” Southtown News, I am living in the vision that was given to me. Now as the Publisher of Xtra Pair of Hands Publication, I am continuing to set the example and lay the foundation for future generations.
I encourage and challenge you to take off the fear of “what if” and put on the belief “I can” and do the things that make you happy and content. You will live alot longer when you are happy, confident, and able to encourage some-one else. Everyday won’t be easy and it may get rough sometimes, but remember, it is what you put in it that you will get out of it.

The “Authentic” Housewife of Atlanta

Debuting October 07, 2008 on Bravo “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” introduced overdue di-versity, southern familiarity and peachy appeal to an audience of “Housewives” series fanatics. Lisa Wu-Hartwell, the successful matriarch of an adored family including husband Ed Hartwell, an NFL Linebacker and sons Jordan (13), Justin (10) and EJ (1), is the recognized darling of the Atlanta elite. In a time when the visual sym-bol of a “housewife” is intimately synonymous with a self-indulged woman who sits idle while her husband builds the wealth for her to spend, Lisa Wu-Hartwell is a refreshing ease to the remedy of the stereotype. To Atlanta residents she has rooted a reputation in entrepreneurial success with dedicated ventures comprised of a personalized jewelry line and a thriving real estate firm. With the antici-pated popularity of this season’s “Housewives” she is sure to launch more independent enter-prises stamped for success.
The blog buzz has been the diversity of this season’s “Real Housewives” cast. Alas, a hospitable southern familiarity which viewers have been crav-ing. When asked about the
response to diversity, Wu-Hartwell agreed “this is a happy medium in between southern hospitality with certain real-ness as well.” Lisa Wu-Hartwell shares mutual excitement about the show with cast mates DeShawn Snow, Ne Ne Leakes, Kim Zoliack and Sheree Whit-field and emphasizes that each woman delivers her own unique strengths.
Understanding that she has limited control of the edited portrayal of herself, Lisa Wu-Hartwell is encouraged that her televised representation would remain positive saying “At the end of the day your family and friends know who you are and you can’t please everyone” further conveying “I stay true to who I am.” Wu-Hartwell expressed that she missed the on-air introduction of her entire family, however understands that due to legal restraints she was unable to broadcast her two eldest sons. “People only see that I have one child, but I have three and [I am] very proud of them and they are great boys.” Boasting “My life is my three boys and my hus-band,” Wu-Hartwell embraces the advantage to cook, clean and take care of her family.
In past years Wu-Hartwell has autographed the talents of acting, screenwriting, paint-ing and producing to mature her mark in the entertainment industry. Early on, she stud-ied acting with a passion to write, produce and direct her own stage plays. I’m NOT Superwoman By Mia Y. Pollard, BBA, CEC
I’m not Superwoman. It took me a long time to come to terms with the reality of my limitations and to accept that I cannot be all things to all people. I’m not God and I’m not Superwoman. Not that the two are the same, but you get the picture.
I can do a lot of things: work full time, build a coaching practice, cook, clean, get the kids ready for school, spend quality time with family and friends, plan a dinner party in two days...
I can be a lot of things: loving Mom, dedicated employee, supportive coach, author, friend, sister, daughter, chauffer, cheerleader…
But realizing that I did not have to do it ALL was a relief. Yes I get up at 6:30 to begin my day. I pray, send my son a text, and drop my daughter off to school before heading to work. During the course of my day I handle my “day job”, network to build my business, meet with clients and manage my personal life.
I can make sure clothes are washed and ironed for the next day; make sure food is purchased and prepared, manage the family’s social calendar including, sports activities, outings with extended family and friends, church, personal grooming and oh yeah, rest!
When I realized I was not Superwoman, I knew I needed to ASK for help. I asked the kids, their dad, my parents, my siblings, friends and even hired help. I should have followed my mom’s lead a long time ago. She is an efficient organizer. She will call in a team to clean, run errands, whatever she needs done, in a second. Mom was into ordering meals and clothes through catalogs and online before it became a fad. AND she always has time to herself.
While my kids may not know what it’s like to have dried beans boiled and soaked and cooked over night, they are okay with the can variety because it means that Mom is happy; I have more time to do things that matter more in our home like play a board game, read a book or watch a show before sending them to bed and getting on the computer myself to continue building and growing our empire.
I’ve learned that I am not Superwoman, but I am a Super Woman who knows it is OK to use external resources to get the job done!

Nicoma NarjettNicoma Narjett lights up a room. She is fun, energetic and resourceful. Nicoma works as a Personal Assistant for a high profile celebrity.

Nicoma was born and raised in Evanston, IL, and came to Atlanta, GA in June of 1997. She entered college at Clark Atlanta University where she graduated with her Bachelors degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations. She has a background in Marketing, Event Planning, and Public Relations. Nicoma spent several years serving in a large ministry in Atlanta. One of her greatest accomplishments was assisting the White House press pool during the Coretta Scott King Funeral, and being amongst four living presidents. While serving in the ministry, she had a desire to work with celebrities on a larger scale, as she was always given the task. The only regret Nicoma has is that she hadn’t embarked on her career as a Personal Assistant upon leaving college. Realizing that her desire would not go away, upon exiting ministry, she focused all her energy and efforts toward making the dream a reality.
Nicoma’s ideal job is to work for someone who has their hands in various areas of entertainment (music, fashion, and movies), and who believes in giving back to not only the community, but the world, through their non-profit foundation. In the long term, she would like to run a non-profit foundation for a celebrity. She loves the flexibility, no 9-5, and enjoys helping others and feels that being a Personal Assistant is a perfect fit for her.
Her hobbies include reading, writing, bowling, dancing and hanging out with her friends and family.
A FEW TIPS:
* Know who you are and be confident what you bring to the table. You may not always here “thank you”, “you are great”, “I sincerely appreciate you”; but you have to remember who you are because most days that is the only thing that will keep you going.
* Be flexible. Flexibility is the key to being a Personal Assistant.
* When your boss (the client) has days that conversations may be in-tense, don’t match the conversation with the same intensity or nothing will get accomplished.
* Show your boss (the client) al-most immediately why your part-nership makes for a perfect union. Personal Assistant positions are all about trust and honesty.
* Go with your gut feeling. If youare lost while running errands, not sure what gift to get when given no ideas, or jus unsure...go with your intuition, what does your gut say? Whatever it is saying, that is what you should do.
*When it is time to move on, move on...move. Some of us are called to only walk with our boss for six months, a year, five years, or a life-time; but keep in mind when your time is up.

Monitor What You Read – The best way to quickly get out of your situation is to increase knowledge. Your best thinking has you in your current situation. You need to get out of your mind. My favorite book says, “You must be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Spend time reading material that will strengthen your weakness.
Monitor What You Hear - Turn your car into a mobile university. Listen to material that will build your faith and starve your doubts. Listen to motivational, spiritual, relationship and wealth creating CD’s while driving to your destination.
Monitor Your Relationships – Based on an extensive study a major university concluded that, “You will earn within $5,000 of your 5 best friends”. If you hang around losers you will end up a loser. Upgrade your relationships! Get positive and faith-filled people in your life.
Monitor Your Mouth – What you say directly impacts your attitude. Make a list of positive affirmations to say daily that will build your faith, improve self esteem and make you feel like the winner you were born to be. Maintain a positive outlook in the future.
Monitor Your Health – “Nothing taste as good as health feels.” Exercise on a daily basis. If you don’t have good health…you have nothing. Check with your doctor about the best exercise program for you. Reduce the amount of junk you put in your body. Sugar tastes great but can be an enemy in
your body if abused.

My godmother, the late Italian screen actress, PierAngeli, started acting at age 17and made 30 films during her illustrious career. During that time, she had numerous assistants who attended to her many needs.
PierAngeli had the challenge of meeting the demands of a busy screen actress and keeping her romance with actor, James Dean, hot and steamy. It takes effort and a willing spirit, but a happy, healthy relationship is the end result.

Brandin Jay is an 19 year old prodigy, born in Norwalk CT, and has been perform-ing since the age of 2.
