Always the Pride

ENGINESThe standard LionRock genset uses a Perkins engine but sometimes a different engine is recommended to meet the special requirements of a client.

ALTERNATORSLeroy Somer alternators are fitted as standard. LionRock can also offer Stamford alternators where preferred.

ASSEMBLY The engine and alternator are close coupled by means of an SAE flange. A full torsion analysis has been carried out to guarantee no damaging vibration will occur.Between the engine alternator feet and the base frame are anti-vibration pads to ensure complete vibration isolation of the rotating assemblies. This enables the machine to be placed on an uneven surface without any detrimental effects.For durability and corrosion resistance, all iron and steel surfaces of canopy fabrications have been prepared for coating by grit blast cleaning. Then three layers of special painting provide excellent protection from corrosion.

CONTROL SYSTEM AND PROTECTIONControllers are available to suit any specialized application. Deep Sea, Deif, Comap or other brands of controller can be fitted as an alternative to LionRock controllers. Control systems can be specified such as key start controller, automatic start control model and PCRC three remote control systems.

WARRANTY 3Tech provides one-source responsibility for the generator set

and accessories. Each LionRock generating set has passed a 1 hour running test at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and 110% of rated load. All protective devices and control functions are simulated and tested before dispatch.

Engine and alternator are guaranteed as standard for a period of 12 months from the date of commissioning or 1,000 running hours (whichever is first).

Prime RatingPrime ratings are applicable when supplying continuous electrical power (at variable load) in a situation where there is no mains supply. There is no limit on the annual running hours. A prime rated model can supply up to 10% overload power for 1 hour in every 12 hours.

Standby RatingThese ratings apply to a generator standing by as a backup source of continuous electrical power (at variable load) if the mains supply fails. No overload is permitted on these ratings. The alternator is peak continuous rated (as defined in ISO 8528-3).

LR2012 is an Automatic Start Control Module designed to automatically start and stop the

Generator with the close/open signal for the Generator Circuit Breaker.

The module also monitors and protects the engine, indicating operational status,

fault conditions and metering on the front panel LCD and LED’s.

Low Fuel Consumption: NdFeB Magnets Alternator for high efficiency. Under low load, the voltage regulator can vary the engine speed resulting in fuel savings of up to 30%.

Expansion capacity: DC generators can be connected in parallel for load sharing (whereas AC generators cannot) which allows for capacity expansion.

Compatibility: Some AC generators and switch mode power supplies are not compatible. Because of the current pulsing load of switch mode power supplies, some AC genset voltage regulators may not be able to regulate the voltage. DC gensets will have no such problem.

Low EMI emissions: Alternator has no bearings, couplings, brushes, slip rings, or rotating fields. There are no alternator parts to wear.

Low Noise Level: Improving alternator efficiency reduces the demand on the engine and hence the engine noise. Noise is further reduced by eliminating the brushes, slip rings and the alternator fan.

Intelligent management of battery charging: Automatic three-step charging circuit consists of bulk rate, overcharge, and float. Battery life is extended.

Automatic Temperature Compensation: The genset output can be temperature compensated for superior battery charging. A temperature sensor is placed on the battery and the regulator responds by adjusting the output voltage.

Comprehensive system protection: The system is protected from over voltage, battery reverse connection, short circuit and low engine oil. Avoiding faults leads to stable performance.

The 3Tech Compact Dummy Load �is a portable, ultra-compact, resistive Dummy Load for indoor use.

The Compact Dummy Load is a portable, ultra-compact, resistive dummy load specifically designed for testing and routine maintenance of generators and UPS systems. At only 30kg@80kW it is less than half the weight and size of traditional load banks of similar capacity. It is light enough to be easily moved and transported by one technician, and rugged enough to give years of reliable service. The Compact Dummy Load features light weight aluminum and aluminized steel construction and quick-connect load socket. The dummy load comes with a hard cover protective travel case on casters with a telescopic handle.

Automatic Transfer Switches3Tech designs and manufactures automatic transfer switches for both indoor

and outdoor use. These ATS are employed in some power systems to switch from

a primary power source to a secondary source. For example, an ATS will detect a

failure in the mains supply and start up a standby generator until the mains

supply is restored. 3Tech ATS can be integrated in the genset control panel.

LionRock’s modular all-in-one diesel genset design includes battery cabinet, bulk fuel tank and noise reduction canopy. The module provides unique benefits to our customers and meets sophisticated requirements for cell sites.

The modular design can be customized to meet specific requirements but has shorter delivery time compared to tailor made gensets. The all-in-one unit decreases the need for piping and wiring at the installation site and provides stability and ease-of-use.

Cost savingThe pre-tested modular solution enables easier and faster deployment and ensures a low total cost of ownership due to reduced construction and service demands.

Where generators are running continuously the greatest operating cost is for routine maintenance. Generally, gensets require routine maintenance services every 250 running hours including the replacement of filters and lubrication oil. Operating expenses are not only for replacement parts but also for labour costs and transportation, which can be very significant for remote sites.

To minimize these operating costs and improve the running stability of gensets, LionRock has designed a customized solution that allows a genset to run for 1,000 hours without maintenance.

Many of the cell sites are in remote locations. It is important that the frequency of site visits is limited to reduce maintenance costs. Fuel tanks must be secure against fuel theft. The power supply must be completely reliable, 24 hours a day, every day. The genset supplier must be capable of meeting an ambitious production and installation schedule. The gensets must be excellent value in terms of durability and cost with extended warranty options.

An efficient and low-cost manufacturing facility enables 3Tech to assemble and supply LionRock Power gensets at a competitive price. To limit the frequency of site visits, LionRock offers a “1,000 hours maintenance-free” genset equipped with extra tanks for oil and water and upgraded filters for fuel, oil and air. 2,000 liter high security fuel tanks reduce the frequency of refueling and protect against fuel theft.

Although 3Tech has no permanent office in this particular country, the company quickly deploys experienced project managers to supervise local engineers to provide installation and warranty services.
