Lion Revelation 5:5

A power to be respected.

A voice obliging attention.

An energy of rippling effect.

A beauty to be admired.

A fierceness that protects.

A ruler requiring obedience.

Like creatures of the savanna,

You are in charge of the pride.

The long strides of your love

Run to embrace all creation.

Today: The Lion’s energy stirs me toward good.

The World of Gender

Question:

What does “non binary” mean?

Answer: A non-binary person, also known as “Enby” based off of the letters N&B

is someone who does not identify exclusively as a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders,

fluctuate genders, be a third/other gender, or identify with no gender at all.

black history month 2020

Every February, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians, past and present.

The 2020 theme for Black History Month is: "Canadians of African descent: Going forward, guided by the past." This was inspired by the theme of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent (2015-2024).

Dinner with Friends needs hosts for this term! If you can donate frozen soup or bread or salad to the cause that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for helping to feed hungry students!

Stained-glass windows from Knox-Met UC

The St. Albert Canadian Reformed Church purchased several of the stained glass windows from the Knox-Metropolitan United Church building to adorn their new building. This included the Gift of Life octagon (west window), the “wheat” and “lily” windows, three of the small octagon windows from the main sanctuary (crown, Bible and scroll) and the bottom scripture windows of the eight sanctuary windows. After years of prayer and planning, the St. Albert Canadian Reformed Church has completed construction of its new church building. You are invited to the official opening scheduled for February 8, beginning at 1:30 pm. The church is located on the northwest outskirts of St. Albert at 54203 Range Road 261, Sturgeon County — the northeast corner of Range Road 261 and Highway 633 For more information please visit https://stalbertcanrc.com

treaty talk - sharing the river of life

February 13 at 7:30 pm Mill Woods United

This 50-minute film, through the sharing of a traditional Cree understanding on natural law and treaty, will explore and model how Indigenous nations and non-Indigenous allies in Canada can come together to transform racism and discrimination at a local and systemic level and to build a future of mutual benefit. Dr. Diana Steinhauer, Lloyd Cardinal and Ward Antoniuk will be in attendance to help with discussion.
