Before you begin - Shira originally designed and knit this amazing blanket as a way to relax and stash bust. Consider this pattern as a general guide – if you don’t have every color, or start to run out of a color, use yarn from your stash. This will truly make the blanket your own!

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS Circular knitting needle size 13 (9 mm), 40 in. (101.5 cm) long

GAUGE 9.5 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with A. BUT DON’T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT YOUR GAUGE, WE WANT THIS BLANKET TO BE A JOY TO MAKE!

3. Stripes worked with all other yarns are worked in Stockinette st (k on RS, p onWS) with first and last 5 sts of each row worked in Garter st.

4. Each time you begin a new stripe, cut the yarn you’ve been using, leaving along ending yarn tail. Then, leaving a long beginning yarn tail, start knittingwith the new yarn. You’ll weave in the yarn tails when you finish the Blanket!

5. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Workback and forth in rows on the circular needle just as if working on straightneedles.

BLANKET With A, cast on 85 sts.

Stockinette Stripe Row 1 (RS): With A, knit. Row 2: With A, k5, p to last 5 sts, k5.

Rep Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe until almost all of one ball of A has been used, end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.

NOTE Row 2 is the wrong/back side of your Blanket. Take a moment to observe how this side looks – then later you’ll know which is the wrong side!

Garter Stripe Next Row: With E, knit. Rep last row until this stripe measures about 5 in. (12.5 cm), end with a WS row as the last row you work.

With B, work Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe for 3 in. (7.5 cm), end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.

With C, work Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe until almost all of this ball of yarn has been used, end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.

With D, work Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe for 2 in. (5 cm), end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.

With B, work Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe until almost all of this ball of yarn has been used, end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.

With F, work Garter Stripe for 5 in. (12.5 cm), end with a WS row as the last row you work.

With A, work Rows 1 and 2 of Stockinette Stripe until you have just about 3 yd. (3 m) of the ball remaining.

Bind off.






FINISHING Weave in ends.
