My name is Joan Borgelt and I live in Ohio

with my husband Randy. We have 3 chil-

dren, 10 grandchildren and 1.5 great grand-

children. I am an Education Licensing Man-

ager by day and an avid paper crafter by

night. I have been scrapbooking/paper crafting for 20+ years.

This obsession … I mean hobby lets me exhibit and explore my

creative side. I love all things vintage, the beach, traveling, work-

ing out at the gym and reading a good book. I am very excited to

be a part of the LB Kit Club Design Team!

So excited to be part of the Linnie Blooms de-

sign team! I've been asked to tell you a little

about me, so here goes. I've been paper craft-

ing since I was pregnant with my oldest son.

He's going to be 21 soon, so it's been a long

time. When I started, I was a scrapbooker! I

love those old albums filled with triangles of

paper and stickers, but I also love how my

crafty style has evolved over the years. I'm

now into cards, scrapbooks, mixed media, upcycling projects, and decora-

tion of my craft storage accessories! I'm a manager of Arts departments at

a local university. I'm a happily-2nd-time-around-married wife and a

mom. Between my hubby and I, we have four boys all between the ages of

19 and 20. (There are twins in there...) They are all boy, all the time - but

they truly are great kids, and I'm very lucky to have them in my life. For

fun, I craft! My husband and I are also avid boaters (he fishes, I read).

I glued the border and some burlap ribbon I had in my

stash to edge the box.

This little journal came together really

quick and is a great way to document all

the fun you have this summer! I started

with a Linnie Blooms Mini File Folder,

added some plain notebook paper and

washi tape for easy turning of the pages.

You can also adhere journal prompt paper

to the inside pages. The outside of the

journal was decorated using a chevron

stencil, navy chalk ink and some designer

paper.

Tip: When adhering paper to canvas,

Aleene’s Fabric Fusion gives you a very

strong hold once it’s dry.

Never underestimate the power of paper! This is a great project for any of your beautiful

leftover scraps. Simply tear and glue down to a painted stretched canvas, forming any

shape you wish. I shaded the heart with my favorite Faber-Castell Pitt Markers. A scrap

of burlap anchoring a quick message finished this project.

This kit comes with 2 Linnie Blooms Canvas Bookmarks. But don’t let that title pause

your creativity! Here I sewed the ends of my bookmarks together to create a jar hugger.

I decorated it with sprays, stamps and archival ink. Holes punched and shabby trim tied

together closes and finishes the project.

I hope you enjoyed this month’s projects from the design team! We

sure had fun making them!

See you again next month!
