Manuel CS is a Portuguese citizen who grew up between

Lisbon and Macau-China.

Graduated in Equipment Design by the Lisbon School of

Fine arts in 2001, the designer has been developing,

since 1998, a range of work in different areas of creation.

His debut was in Lisbon with stage set design, urban de-

sign, interior design and product design, including proj-

ects for several events and exhibitions, such as:

The Blitz Awards at the Lisbon Coliseum, exhibition

spaces at the Amadora Comics Festival, exhibition spaces

at the National Museum of Natural History, design and

production of outdoors furniture for the Lisbon Botani-

cal Garden, etc. An award by the Spanish Prof. and De-

signer Jorge Pensi opened the doors to the Barcelona

Design Exhibition, following which he was invited for the

exhibition “The Future is a State of Mind”, organized by

Experimenta Design.

In 2002, Manuel CS moved to Macau to establish “City

Furniture Designers”, a company providing design con-

sultancy services and product design, whose first project

was the creation of a telephone booth for CTM (Macau

Telecom).

In 2004 he establishes the brand ONOF together with

Eddie Au. Since then, he has designed and produced sev-

eral multimedia kiosks for the city of Macau.

In 2006, jointly with Clara Brito, the designer was in-

vited to coordinate the Summer Courses of the Macau Art

Museum. Also in 2006, he expanded his company once

more by creating the Lines Lab brand/laboratory. Lines

Lab is already represented worldwide and its full com-

mitment is to articulating the elements of contemporary

urban creation, i.e, objects/products, people and events.

His work, is represented in several art exhibitions,

namely at the Macau Art Museum, at the Tap Seac Gallery,

and at the Shenzen Art Museum.

His work as a designer spans Lisbon and Macau-China.

Manuel C S 是葡裔人，在葡萄牙里斯本和中國澳門成長。2001 年，完成里斯本美術大學設備設計系之學位課程。自 1998年起，他專注發展個人創作，所涉足的類別十分之廣泛。最初，他在里斯本進行空間藝術創作和設計，期間舉辦了數項活動和展覽。在 2001年，以「Rollana Beat」樂隊名義，發行名為「Big Sneeze」唱片集。在 2002年，他移居中國澳門，並開設了「City Furniture Designers」公司。在工

作期間，提供多項設計服務和產品製作，包括為澳門電訊有限公司 (CTM)設計電話亭。一年前，ManuelC S與 Clara Brito創立 Lines Lab品牌來一試市場。這項冒險新概念以當代的需求作定位，透過從物體、人和事情之間取得之平衡，演繹時下的都市創作。這兩位設計師，在里斯本和中國-澳門從事設計方面的工作。

Clara Brito born in Lisbon, Portugal, holds a Graduate

Degree in Equipment Design by the Lisbon School of Fine Arts.

She furthered her studies of Fashion and Design at the

Milan Polytechnic Institute/ School of Architecture and

Design. Also developed individual projects that deserved

high distinctions.

In Lisbon she developed projects in interior, equipment

and fashion design, namely the design for several exhi-

bition spaces at the Amadora Comics Festival; participa-

tion in different design contests being awarded by Prof.

and Designer Ron Arad, which won her place at the Sa-

lone of the Milan Design Biennale.

Clara Brito recently moved to Macau-China, participated

in the 5th Fashion “Human Cup” International Youth De-

sign Contest (Women's Wear) and received honorable

mention awarded by Li Dong Qi, the vice-president of the

Association of Chinese Fashion Designers.

The designer was invited to create and coordinate, to-

gether with her partner Manuel CS, the Summer Art

Courses at Macau Art Museum.

In 2006, Clara Brito established the brand/laboratory

Lines Lab together with designer Manuel CS.

Her work as a designer spans internationally.

Clara Brito 是一名葡裔設計師，於里斯本成長。她在里斯本美術大學完成設備設計之課程，於 2003 年取得碩士學位。她曾修讀時裝及織品設計 (Erasmus)，並於米蘭理工學校建築與設計系，發展不會計劃與項目。由於她的設計別出心裁，不僅獲授予最高榮

譽，還應 Rafaella Mangiarotti 教授之邀請，把作品展示給 DeepDesign。近年來，她移居中國澳門。在此期間，曾獲中國時裝設計師協會副主席 Li Dong Qi

頒授【第五屆“虎門杯”國際青年設計(女裝)大賽】紀念獎。

«DNA» is a collection of outdoors benches created according to a modular logic.

Like chromosomes, these modules can be combined in different ways allowing for new

ambiances. The system can design a unique identity for each urban site, in keeping

with change as an index of quality of life in the city.

«Route» is a line of light and matter defining time and space. This object draws its in-

spiration from the traditional oriental screen. Its function is to shape space and it can

be used in different positions. Route may inhabit space solely on its own or with other

objects, allowing for a metamorphosis from a lamp into a wall of light.

The «Reflexos» («Reflections») public installation is made up of 700 200mm and

800mm convex plates, mounted on the right side wall of the Macau-Zhuhai Border Gate’s

forecourt. 693 plates are mirrored, the remaining 7 are in white translucent acrylic. The

latter are retro-illuminated by a lighting system (LEDBULB - Optech) that allows a

constant and progressive, previously determined, color mutation.
