Member of a Board appointed committee with the goal of making recommendations on how to
restructure the governance of PMINZ.
Analysed existing constitution, and current the Incorporated Societies Act 1908
Constitution and By-Laws Review – Assisted in preparation of new draft constitution
Worked with PMI Global and Asia Pacific to ensure any changes are within guidelines.

Co-management Research Project 2013
Environment Canterbury
For the Programme Manager Strategic Policy:
Conducted extensive research and analysis of the key concepts and issues when
planning and implementing co-management of natural resources between Environment
Canterbury and Ngai Tahu. Interviewed specialist practitioners
Policy and Enterprise Analysis: Analyzed New Zealand Government and local
government strategies, regulations, legislation (incl. the Resource Management Act and the
Local Government Act).
Gap analysis: Researched key principles and compared to real world implementations.
Identified nine key characteristics, needing further development by ECan.
Organizational modelling: Evaluated the characteristics of various types of virtual
business structures that involve internal and external stakeholders.
Enterprise Analysis: Developed plans for implementation of governance infrastructure,
stakeholder management, engagement, and strategic risk assessments.
Knowledge management: Created guidelines for a customized information repository
within ECan’s existing SharePoint infrastructure. Compiled a detailed list of the information
and metadata to be included.
Project planning: Applied project management best practices relating to complex public
projects. Key principles applied included: governance, risk management, project reviews.
Business case: Created customized model based on the Better Business Cases (BBC)
framework (NZ Treasury National Infrastructure Unit).
Process modelling: Developed processes to facilitate development of management plans
that takes full account of regulatory, environmental, cultural, commercial, and public
infrastructure policy issues.
Monitoring and performance measurement: Formulated procedures for monitoring of
project management practices. Developed principles for the on-going development of
custom KPI’s.
Outcome: Enabled ECan to better understand the complex issues when planning co-management
of natural resources.
