Deputy Principal K-2: Angela Mustaca
Deputy Principal 3-6: Peter Hayllar
Principal’s Message
Congratulations Intermediate Band!
For the third year in a row, Intermediate Band won their section of the
North Shore Band Festival on 6 September. This is an amazing feat –
congratulations to Intermediate Band members and conductor Sian
Joyce on this wonderful achievement. Their prize was an original piece
of music which we look forward to hearing.
A Night to Remember for Ravel
Our Ravel String Quintet impressed the
audience with their performance of Eine
Kleine Nachtmusik at the Sydney Town
Hall on Monday night. They were given the
honour of being a feature item in the
Brindabella Concert of the Primary Proms
after auditioning earlier in the year.
Congratulations to
Ravel and Mark
Stevens – it was an
absolute pleasure to
hear you play at this
prestigious event.

NAPLAN Results for Years 3 and 5
The 2019 NAPLAN results have arrived and once again we are proud of the students’ achievements.
Letters to Parents will be sent home on Monday detailing your child’s results across all domains. As
recommended by NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority), ‘parents and carers should take
particular care in considering the 2019 results if your child experienced disruptions in taking the NAPLAN
tests due to connectivity issues. Class teachers are best placed to provide insight into students’
educational progress.’ A summary of the school results will be published in Lines once we have had a
chance to analyse them in more depth.
KS Assembly
Last week, we had the first of our Kindergarten
classes entertain us with their assembly item. KS
sang ‘Dig Like A Wombat’ and showed their colourful
artworks of Australian animals inspired by the artist
Pete Cromer. Well done KS- you sang beautifully
and the actions were great! We also presented the
K-2 Blue Assembly Awards and Gold Awards for the
fortnight.

Portrait Competition Winners
Congratulations to Eve in 3F, Caleb in 2HK and Maxwell
from KLP, who have received awards for their Father’s Day
portraits. Well done artists!
Summer Uniform
It is that time of year again where the weather can get a
little warm. Students are allowed to wear either their
summer uniform or winter uniform for Weeks 9 & 10 Term 3
if they wish to. Students must wear their full school uniform
and not a mix of the summer and winter uniform. Students
will have to wear their full summer uniform from the
beginning of Term 4.
Is your child having a good night's sleep?
As we get to the end of the term, lots of boys and girls are feeling
very tired! It’s really important that students get to bed early at
night time...usually between 7pm and 8pm and children typically
require nine to 11 hours of sleep per day (and all of it at night). It is
also very important that students don’t use devices just before
going to bed. We recommend students read a book or are read to
before falling asleep. A good night’s sleep will allow for your
children to meet their potential during the following day at school!
Term 4 Recreational Sport and Summer PSSA
Students who enrolled in Recreational Sport for the summer season received a note yesterday. Students
who did not receive a note will be divided into school sport rotations. Permission notes must be returned
by Thursday for students to take part, especially for Tennis and Rock Climbing where students leave the
school grounds. Summer PSSA training and games begin this week.
2020 Kindergarten Enrolments
Enrolments for Kindergarten 2020 are now open. We ask that if your child is coming to Lindfield Public
School in 2020 in Kindergarten that you please fill out an enrolment form at the front office before the end
of Term 3. This will greatly help us plan our Kindergarten Orientation groups.
Extension Class
Thank you to the parents who attended the
Extension Class Information Evening last
Wednesday. Thank you also to Mrs
Rivera, Mr Hayllar and Ms Lockery for
giving a clear outline of the expectations of
our Extension Class Program.
Parent Helpers
We are so lucky to have many parents and carers who give up their time in the morning to facilitate our
Literacy Groups Program. Students thoroughly enjoy reading with parents and we thank those of you
who take the time to do so. Please contact your child’s class teacher if you would be able to assist with
group work.
Road Safety Concerns
As students cross the road, it is imperative that they cross at the traffic lights or use the supervised
Grosvenor Road crossing. Parents and carers, we ask that you do not wait on one side of the road and
beckon your children to cross the road towards you as this is dangerous. Please follow these road safety
guidelines for your child’s safety.
The 'Tell Them From Me' Parent Feedback Survey
This term our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning Parent Survey. Your valuable
feedback will help guide decisions around the future directions of our school. The survey will typically
take 20 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The survey can be done in several
languages. Although participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much
appreciated. To access the LPS Parent Survey please go to:
http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/lindfieldps2019 Thank you for your time in completing this survey as
part of our consultation phase for our future school plans.

Work on Display
Anaphylaxis at Lindfield Public School At Lindfield Public School in 2019, we have a small number of children who could have a potentially life
threatening allergic reaction. They are found across our school from Kindergarten to Year 6.
How can parents help these children?
Choose alternative sandwich spreads to peanut butter and Nutella. Inform your child that
these foods can trigger an anaphylactic reaction.
Reinforce the school’s NO FOOD SHARING message.
Please note, no students are allowed to bring
glass bottles to school for safety reason
Work on display in the office for this week

WHY JOIN THE P&C?
Thank you to everyone who attended our last meeting. With over 820 reasons to join the P&C
we are still yet to fill 4 Executive positions - President, Vice President, Secretary and Assistant
Secretary. The time commitment to these roles are two Executive meetings per term and a
General Meeting once a term. To ensure that we have a balanced Executive Committee it is
important that these roles are fulfilled. The Executive works to create policies and decisions
which reflect the attitudes and values of the school community. The Executive is supported by
our Business Manager who is responsible for the smooth running of the daily operations of the
P&C.
If you interested in joining the P&C or can assist with one of our committees please email

Band
JB rocks Roseville Kindy!
The smiles said it all - our Junior Band
enjoyed another memorable and joyful visit to
Roseville Kindy last week and brought the
tiny tots to their toes. Afterward, it was
reported that the preschoolers were so
inspired, they were giving their own
instruments a noisy work out! Well done to all
our talented JB’s and a huge thank you to the
wonderful parent volunteers Miss Zhan, Mrs
Poulton and Miss Mustaca for accompanying
the children and transporting the
instruments. Thank you to Megan L for
conducting another fun-filled performance.
