The Republican County Convention for Lincoln county met at thecourt house in this city Saturdayafternoon, August 11th, accordingto the published call. Chas. P.Dick, secretary of the county cen-

tral committee, in the absence ofthe chairman, called the convention to order.

chairman, made some appropriate remarks, and he then read thecall as published in The Tribune.

The following order of businesswas then submitted by Mr. lddingsas a motion and carried:

THE RAINFALL- -

Several weeks ago the OgalallaNews published a statement givingthe rainfall of past twelve years asrecorded by the officers of this sig-nal station, and the editor in his remarks stated the rainfall m Western Nebraska was increasing eachvear. A copy of the paper was forwarded to the signal office in Washington, and last week ObserverPiercy of the North Platte officereceived the following from Jno. P.Findley, the Recording Officer ofthe Signal Department:
