www.lincolnalexander.ps.yrdsb.ca
The hallways of LAPS are abuzz with excitement this week. We look forward
to our first School Council Movie Night tonight. Students may wear their
PJ’s! We hope that our families enjoy a special time together as they watch
“Finding Dory” at this school community event! Our next School Council
meeting is taking place next Monday, December 5th at 7:00. Please consider
attending, as we make plans for more upcoming events. Preparations are also
happening for the Holiday Concerts next week and students, both younger
and older, love a concert! We are really looking forward to these special per-
formances!
We encourage you to take part in our charity drives this season. Our School
Council is running a Mitten and Hat Drive. Families are welcome to deco-
rate the tree in our front entrance with these warm clothing items in an effort
to assist others in our midst. Our PC4L team is also running a Toy
Drive! Please see the flyers below for more information. Happy Weekend to
All!
NEXT WEEK MONDAY– Day 1 TUESDAY-Day 2 WEDNESDAY-Day 3 THURSDAY-Day 4 FRIDAY-Day 5
School Council is looking at offering a pizza lunch option every Friday beginning in JANUARY 2017. This program cannot run without the help of our parent volunteers!
If you are able to come into the school on a Friday from
11:45-12:45, please email the school at [email protected] with your availability.
Thank you for your continued support!
Message From Our Trustee
As we near the end of 2016, I hope everyone has had a great school year so far and found
opportunities to get involved with the life of the school.
It is wonderful to have opportunities to see not only what our students are learning, but to
see how they are learning – collaborating and problem solving, using technology in excit-
ing new ways, and engaged in hands-on activities.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated staff members, students, families and
community members across our Board. Thanks to all of the great people we have in our
system, we continue to advance student achievement and well-being.
Our Board continues to have a strong commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive learn-
ing environments that enable all of our students to thrive. Engaging families in your
child’s education and the school community is in an important part of creating that envi-
ronment.
There are resources for families available on our Board website at www.yrdsb.ca/parents,
including information on Board programs and supports, and tips for parents to support
your child’s learning at home and at school.
Best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy holiday
season and a wonderful start to 2017. I hope you are
able to enjoy time with family and friends.
Yours truly,
Mr. Billy Pang Trustee-Markham

Dear Parents/Guardians, The holiday season is almost upon us, and L.A.P.S “Me to We Team” has proudly partnered with CTV News to be a part of the Toy Mountain event in one of our local community cen-ters. This year’s event will be held on December 12th 2016 at the North Thornhill Community Centre, and it will air live on CTV Toronto’s News at 6 pm. Lincoln Alexander Public School’s Toy donation drive will run from now until to Monday December 12th 2016. We are hoping to collect as many items as possible to support children and families in need during this holiday season. Please help us by donating a new unwrapped toy. Thank you in advance for your ongoing support with all of our initiatives.
