Week 4 Rounds 36-44

Pattern Notes◌ Use only one colour per round.◌ As in previous parts, ch2 at the beginning of a round don’t count as a stitch.◌ First st of a round is worked in same st as join (unless otherwise stated).◌ Don’t cut yarn after each round (unless otherwise stated). For the two-colour version, no yarns will

be cut after any round. ◌ Always change to new yarn in joining slip stitch. To change yarn, grab it up behind your work and

don’t pull too much. There will be fl oats of yarn visible on the wrong side.◌ Skip stitches of current round behind FPdtr sts.◌ Gauge check: in this and the next parts, two rounds (tr and dc) measure together approx.

1.3cm/0.5” in height in Our Tribe yarn and 1.5cm/0.6” in Colour Crafter yarn.

Instructions

Round 36. Yarn D (E): Ch2, (23tr, 2tr in next st) 18 times, join with ss in fi rst tr after ch2 (change to Yarn A). Cut Yarn E – 450 sts.

Round 37. Note: all FPdtr should be vertical. Work them around st of same colour from 2 rounds below a little bit forward from current st.Yarn A: Ch1 (doesn’t count as st – here and throughout), *5dc, FPdtr around st from 2 rounds below, skip 1 st behind FPdtr (here and throughout); repeat from * around, join with ss in fi rst dc after ch1

(change to Yarn F, don’t cut Yarn A) – 450 sts.

Round 38. Yarn F: Ch2, *24tr, 2tr in next st; repeat from * 17 more times, join with ss in first tr after ch2 (change to Yarn A, cut Yarn F). Place stitch markers at all increases – 468 sts.

Round 39. Yarn A: Ch1, 3dc, FPdtr around central st of same colour from 2 rounds below between two FPdtr, skip 1 st, *5dc (or 6dc if increase is involved), FPdtr (as previous), skip 1 st; repeat from * around until last 3 sts, 3dc to end, join with ss in first dc after ch1 (change to Yarn D). Remove markers – 468 sts.

Round 40. Yarn D: Ch2, *25tr, 2tr in next st; repeat from * 17 more times, join with ss in first tr after ch2 (change to Yarn A, cut Yarn D). Place stitch markers at all increases – 486 sts.

The next rounds are worked back and forth. Turn your work after each round and mark the last stitch of each round. The first stitch of the next round will be worked in the marked stitch.

Round 41. Note: Work all FPdtr in the same way as on Round 37.Yarn A: Ch1, 7dc, FPdtr, skip 1 st, *5dc (or 7dc if increase is involved), FPdtr, skip 1 st; repeat from * around, join with ss in first dc after ch1, turn. Don’t fasten off. Remove markers. Mark last st of the round (here and throughout) – 486 sts.

Round 42. WS. Continue with Yarn A: Ch2, 13tr (first tr is worked in marked st of previous round – here and throughout), *2tr in next st, 26tr; repeat from * 16 more times, 2tr in next st, 13tr, join with ss in first tr after ch2 (change to Yarn B (E), turn – 504 sts.

Round 43. RS. Note: all FPdtr should be vertical.Yarn B (E): Ch1, *5dc, FPdtr around st from 2 rounds below, FPdtr around next st from 2 rounds below, skip 2 sts; repeat from * around, join with ss in first dc after ch1 (change to Yarn A), turn – 504 sts.

Round 44. WS. Yarn A: Ch2, 25tr, *2tr in next st, 27tr; repeat from * 16 more times, 2tr in next st, 2tr to end (last tr is worked in same st as join), join with ss in first tr after ch1 (change to Yarn B (E for Colour Crafter). Place stitch markers at all increases – 522 sts.
