On Monday, late night band leader, JonBatiste, received a special award fromcity officials in Philadelphia. Batiste washonored for his music and outreach workhe has done throughout the city, with thefirst ever Benny Golson Award — it’snamed after the iconic jazz musician fromPhilly.
