On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of Foundation of I.P.A. Lignano Basso Friuli, we propose the following tourist and cultural holiday packet to all members, sympathizers and to whoever would like to participate.

1st day Wednesday 19/9/2018

2nd day Thursday 20/9/2018
x Morning, at 8.00 a.m. departure to Udine and guided tour of the historical centre of the city x At the end of the excursion lunch at the “Restaurant al Castello” in Cividale del Friuli x Afternoon - tour of the historical centre of Cividale del Friuli and side trip to a vineyard for a
taste of wines and typical Friulan products x At the end, transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay
3rd day Friday 21/9/2018
x Morning – Boat trip on the M/N “Saturno” to the lagoon of Marano Lagunare and to the mouth of the river Stella
x Lunch while taking the boat trip in a typical “Casone” (unique fishermen's lodgings built with cane and wood) of the lagoon
x Afternoon – Folk music entertainment x At the end, transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay
4th day Saturday 22/9/2018
x Morning – at h. 9.00 a.m. gathering of all participants near the hotel x H. 9.30 a.m. assemblage and leaving of the parade along the town streets, led by the City
Flag, the Authorities, the Representatives of the foreign and Italian delegations with their proper I.P.A. flags and by the members of the Local Branch Lignano B.F. The parade, preceded by the marching band, will reach the “War memorial Monument ” where a laurel wreath will be laid. After the greetings of the Mayor of Lignano Sabbiadoro, a “Vin d’Honneur” will follow at the Alpe Adria Arena
x At the end of the ceremony return to the hotel for lunch x Afternoon – free time along the streets of Lignano Sabbiadoro or relax at the beach x Evening – at h. 19.00 gala dinner and farewell
5th day Sunday 23/9/2018

DRESS CODE FOR THE PARADE AND THE GALA EVENING: ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE KINDLY REQUESTED TO WEAR THEIR I.P.A. UNIFORM OR THEIR SERVICE UNIFORM
PARTICIPATION FEE: € 350,00 per person in double room
€ 45,00 for the gala evening only € 48,00 for the lagoon boat trip only
Additional charge for single room: € 15,00 per night Additional charge for room with sea view: € 10,00 per room per night
N.B. For groups made up of 52 members there will be a nonpaying guest (in double room) every 25 participants
A refund of € 200,00 will be granted to groups that will avail themselves of their own coach

UDINE is a city in northeastern Italy, in the middle of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, between the Adriatic Sea and the Alps. The centre of Udine is dominated by its Castle, on a hill that lodges some museums and an art gallery with the works by Tiepolo and Caravaggio and offers a full view of the city and of the surrounding mountains. In the principal square (Piazza della Libertà) stand Renaissance buildings, among which the town hall (Loggia del Lionello) built in white and pink marble and, opposite, a clock tower (Torre dell'Orologio) resembling that of the Piazza San Marco in Venice.
CIVIDALE THE “DEVIL’S BRIDGE” The name of the bridge derives from a popular legend, most likely fuelled by the tormented construction vicissitudes of the building: it is said that in order to build the bridge, the inhabitants of Cividale had asked the Devil for help. He would have demanded in return the soul of the first creature that had passed on the bridge. Accepted the agreement, in one night the Devil erected the bridge, but the following morning the citizens managed to make an animal pass on the bridge ( a cat or a dog or perhaps even a pig, according to other versions: it seems that in some times of the year someone has heard some noise, similar to grunts, coming from the river bed around the bridge). The Devil mocked in this way , had to be happy with the soul of the animal leaving the Cividalese forever in peace. According to another popular version, the devil would have limited himself to simplifying the construction of the work by placing the large stone on which the central pillar of the bridge rests.
ESCURSIONE IN LAGUNA – The boat trip in the Marano lagoon and to the mouth of the Stella river with the motor vessel “Nuova Saturno” gives the possibility of living UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS IN TIGHT CONTACT WITH NATURE. The same Hemingway described the quiet magic of this landscape that soars from the sea to the sky where time flows slowly and the rhythm of life is still like the one of past time in his novel “ Across the river and into the trees”
