The imperfect campaign

• The government ignored the Lights Out Campaign .

• The campaign promotion was insufficient

• Residents consider environment conservation as an insignificant affair

Reason against the campaign

1.Spoil the international image of Hong Kong->affect the potential visitors

2.Loss the revenue brought by tourism industry

3.Insufficient to change HongHongers‘ inconsiderate behaviour

4.Focus on a quality-of-life issue that affects us all

Comment

• The government's promotion and education should not only be aimed at students, but also at the whole of society

• Government should lay down clear policy and legislation on energy conservation, particularly in the way power companies were regulated.

• Power firms should be assigned targets to help industries or commercial premises to cut energy use. Meeting the targets could give them financial rewards

• People should switch off idling engines and use fewer plastic bags to save environment.
