• Total Street Lights in India (Estimates) – Fluorescent Lamps 25,000,000 (25 Million) – HID, Gas Discharge, MV 2,250,000 (2.25 million)

• Average Street lights per ULB – Fluorescent 5000 – HID 500

• Value for this number works out to Rs. 18,000 Crores (US$ 3 Billion)

• Energy Saving will be > 50% i.e. possible > 1020 MW on grid • Cost saving on maintenance > 80% • THIS SAVING WILL BE > 30% OF BEEs NATIONAL TARGET OF

Down lights for retail outlets

• Retailing in India

• Retailing in India is one of the pillars of its economy and accounts for 14 to 15 percent of its GDP

• The Indian retail market is estimated to be US$ 450 billion and one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value.

• India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world, with 1.2 billion people

• As of 2013, India's retailing industry was essentially owner manned small shops.

• On 7 December 2012, the Federal Government of India allowed 51% FDI in multi-brand retail in India.

Down lights for retail outlets

• Heavy demand for down lights for retail outlets estimated

• Earlier government notification to change from Incandescent Lamp to CFL did not work due to CRI and retail outlets used halogen instead

• Now government started announcing changing from Incandescent and Halogen to LED Lighting in shops and showroom

Estimated Down Lights market

• 5 million retail outlets in India

• Average 10 down lights per show room

• Add up to 50 million down lights

• Value Rs. 5000 Crores (US$ 1 Billion)
