LIGHTING FOR OFFICE BUILDINGS PROJECT: Google Mountain View, CA ARCHITECT: M Moser Associates San Francisco, CA ELECTRICAL CONTR: Redwood City Electric Santa Clara, CA Google is known for its sometimes whimsical work spaces and Borden Lighting is proud to have provided custom fixtures for one of their facilities. Working closely with the electrical contractor on a design-build basis, each of the fixtures was developed on-the-fly based on concepts by the architect. The concentric ring chandelier uses laser cut draped fabric with remote mounted drivers. The luminous wedge fixture was developed to slide into a wood slat ceiling. The “cymbal” pendant has no light source, but acts as a reflector for the downlights, warming the ceiling. All the fixtures are dimmable LED. The fixture in the lower left photo is a simple drum that has daylight fiber emitters and LED for night use.
