When plugged into a power adapter or on top of another LIGHTcube, a connection to the power supply and the control bus is automatically established. Via this control bus, the system can be smart-controlled from a superior system like LABview or via a custom USB interface.

LIGHTcubes are scalable. Multiple modules of the same light color can be connected together (left) for greater light output or modules with different light colors can be connected on one handle. As an example, the combination right could be used for crime scene inspection, using white for general evidence and blue for body fluids.

LIGHTcubes are designed without a cooling fan for DNA preservation and easy cleaning. The top module can be fitted with a protective cover for easy cleaning.

High quality forensic light sources are special due to the combination of high technical demands and the comparably low scale of production. For examination and photography of evidence at the crime scene and in the laboratory, the same range of wavelengths (light colors) may be needed, but the demands on equipment in each situation may be different. As a result, many customers are forced to buy multiple light source systems to suit their needs. Forensic light source systems are expensive to begin with, and the costs increase with the arrival of new techniques that may require new equipment with different power settings or light wavelengths. How convenient would it be to have a single modular system to suit both the crime scene and the lab, and have the ability to easily modify or upgrade that system?

LIGHTcube by Attestor Forensics is a modular light source system

with interchangeable light modules that can be used independently or in tandem with other modules. Each module emits one particular wavelength and both the module power and the light intensity can be controlled via a selection panel on the back of each module.

For increased versatility and budget economy, LIGHTcube orders

can be scaled and customized to suit customer specific needs. These modules are also used with several of our other products, and can interchanged as needed.

The top and bottom of each module features a mechanical quick

release fastener. When connecting a LIGHTcube module to

another compatible device, it automatically connects both the power and control bus, which allows multiple modules of the same color to be operated at once via a superior system such as the

LABview system.

LIGHTcube modules are designed with a bus system

protective cover and without a cooling fan, making them ideal for easy cleaning and better evidence preservation.

Currently LIGHTcube modules are available in UV, blue, blue-

green, cyan, green, cold white, daylight white and IR, suiting a wide variety of applications. In addition, many modules are available with different focal angles. For optimal illumination, we offer a camera stand adaptor which allows for module position to be angles and adjusted both vertically and horizontally.

In addition to standard equipment mounting, LIGHTcube modules

can also be mounted to a handle kit for a simple portable option, excellent for crime scene examination. This practical handheld system can be used with a power outlet or rechargeable battery for maximum versatility.
