What is a Virtual Field Trip?A virtual field trip is one that happens in the comfort of your classroom, library or auditorium via the power of live video.

How can I participate in the LifeSize Virtual Field Trip series? First, you need to register for the events so we can send you the proper information for each trip. Once you are registered, you will receive an email containing all the details for the trip. There are 2 ways to participate: Via the web live stream and via a live video conference call.

What is the cost of the LifeSize Virtual Field Trip series? The series is absolutely free. We simply ask that you register for the events in advance.

Why is LifeSize providing these free events?First, we want to offer great, free content to our current customers. Second, we want to spread the word to all our education friends about the power of video in the classroom. Finally, we want to raise awareness within schools about Grant Services, which can assist schools in purchasing LifeSize Video Equipment FREE OF CHARGE using federal and state grants.

+RZGR,SDUWLFLSDWHLQWKHîHOGWULSXVLQJOLYHYLGHRFRQIHUHQFLQJ"In order to take part in the field trip and actually interact with the presenters over video, you must have a standards-based video conferencing system. Unfortunately services like Facetime, Oovoo, etc. are proprietary software platforms and will not work with our video equipment. However, LifeSize video equipment is standards-based so we can interoperate with other vendors that also practice open-standards. If you’re ready to pursue grant funding to purchase a system for your school so that you can participate this way, you can contact our Grant Services Department.
