EPSA Lifelong Learning
Programme (LLP)
Definition
Background
• Increasingly competitive job market a need for
highly skilled workforce
• A lack of ideal tools that allow pharmacy students
to develop and prove their competencies
• The benefits of the continuing professional
development (CPD) have been recognised and
are now being implemented into curriculums at
numerous European schools of pharmacy
• EPSA has created a programme for students to
identify, develop and demonstrate their
competencies and to be recognised for their
efforts
The EPSA Lifelong Learning
Programme (LLP)
• A dynamic learning tool that accompanies students’ active participation in extra-curricular learning activities
• These activities assist them in: • developing and maintaining continuing
competence
• enhancing their professional practice
• supporting achievement of their career goals
• Demonstration of students’ personal ambition in developing themselves professionally
Programme Overview
• LLP is backed by the Student Pharmacy Framework
(SPF)
• The framework is separated into 4 roles:
1. Professional
2. Collaborator
3. Manager
4. Leader
• Each role contains competencies which are further
divided into sub-competencies (behaviours)
• There are 15 competencies in total
• The framework is progressive by having three levels
that a student can achieve:
Level 1 - Apprentice, Level 2 - Intermediate,
Level 3 - Advanced
Example:
Role 2. Collaborator
Programme Overview
• The framework serves as a tool for the student self-
development
• Students will provide their competencies by filling in
reports for each competency, which will add up to a
portfolio, representative of each of the applicants'
experiences.
• Once the student feels that his/her portfolio is
complete, they can send it to EPSA for assessment
• The student will receive feedback, suggestion for
future development and a Certificate of Completion
which will include a matrix of the level they have
achieved in each category
Conclusion
• EPSA Lifelong Learning Programme provides students with a
more structured approach to personal development, based on
Student Pharmacy Framework (SPF) with
• 4 roles
• 3 levels
• 15 competencies
• We support our members on their way to future professionals by
providing them with various extracurricular activities
• Collaboration with other student associations and professional
associations is important
• We are promoting the LLP to our members and looking forward
to receiving their reports in order to assess their achievements
• Vision of LLP: To build a generation of global competent
problem-solvers who are lifelong learners
Bringing pharmacy, knowledge and
students together
Thank you!
