A LIFE University course led by Dr. Kelly Carr

This course is designed to teach the basic principles of teaching the Bible at the introductory level. It will deal with the research, development, and delivery of a Bible-based lesson. Whether you are a seasoned Bible teacher or a beginner, or you have never taught the Bible but would like to learn how, this class will have something useful and interesting for you. Each student will be required to prepare a lesson with an outline from an assigned passage in the book of 2 Timothy.

If you sense that you may have the gift of teaching or if you are often asked to teach a Bible lesson, but you have never had any training, then this class may be helpful. If you sense a call to ministry, but have not been able to take a class in basic preaching, then this class could be a good first step for you.

Dr. Kelly Carr: Kelly Carr is a graduate of Liberty University (B.S. in Pastoral Counseling), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. in Bible Exposition), and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min. in Proclamation). He has served as a Pastor for many years and trained numerous people in teaching and other ministry skills. He is author of Revelation: Book of Mystery and Majesty.

Topics Include: Overview of “The Joy of Expository Teaching,” Developing the Main Idea, How to Outline a Lesson, How to Put Clarity in a Lesson, How to Put Windows in a Lesson, How to Make the Lesson Necessary, How to Start and When to Stop, Does Your Lesson Have a Purpose?, How to File for the Future

Crisis (Greek - krisis) means "the turning point of a disease,” It was used by ancient physicians to describe the point in an illness when things can go toward recovery or not. In modern times we use the term to define very difficult, life-changing events in our lives and the lives of others. All of us are either going into a crisis, coming out of one, or in the midst of it right now. And we know lots of other people in the same boat.

So what do we do? How do we handle those "life-changing" times? And just as important, how do we help others in crisis? Join Dr. Robert Morgan as he gives us 10 basic strategies to navigate those troubled and stormy times in our lives. He will help us see that times of crisis can be faith building. We can be victorious and give praise to the One that has delivered us!

Learn how to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. He continually stepped into crisis with words of hope, peace, joy and love. We can do the same. Watch the seas part as you begin this adventure.

Follow Me for Kids/Preteens

Follow Me is the preteen Bible study based on the adult book by David Platt. The Great Commission commands us to go and make disciples. In this question-and-answer study, preteens are asked tough questions about discipleship and challenged to make disciples. Includes six daily devotions to encourage preteens throughout the study.

My8 (Middle School)

The study is centered around four passages of Scripture with the number 8 in the reference: Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8, Acts 8. These passages unfold the wonder of evangelism, moving students to share their faith not because they are obliged to, but because they are compelled to.
