Pastor Kim’s Message
— continued on page 4
Brothers and Sisters,
Many years ago, in what was the Soviet Republic, the communistmovement was on the rise. The leaders of the movement decided thatreligion – Christianity – was an obstacle. Determined to put an end toChristianity once and for all, the leaders organized a huge event, preparing the largest arena in the city and telling all the citizens toparticipate. The most famous orator in all of the republic was scheduledto speak on the benefits of communism, while an old pastor, unknown, was to speak on Christianity.
With fanfare and introduction, the orator presented all the implicationsof a communist society its advancements, and necessity for the growthof the republic. After two hours, the orator stepped down to politeapplause, motioned to the pastor, and said nastily, “don’t be long”. Thepastor, who moved very slowly due to his age, approached the podiumand responded, “I will be brief”.
Stepping up into the podium the pastor gazed out at the crowd, morepeople than he had ever seen before. The people, curious, staredintently at this old, feeble man, wondering what he could possibly say.
He began quietly. “I have only one thing to say”, and then with anenergy and volume that belied his years he shouted “Jesus lives: Hewho was dead is now alive!”
The crowd, momentarily stunned, erupted in applause, standing andcheering. The old pastor turned to the leaders, who starred in disbelief, then dropped their heads in shame. Christianity could not be destroyed, for Christ has destroyed death: they had no power greater.
Volume 3, Issue 4
There are many things in this world that seek to fill us with life. Butthe truth is the only thing that can fill us with life is the empty graveof Jesus Christ. Brothers and Sisters, be filled this Easter and always.
Peace,
Pastor Kim

Seder Meal
Taking bread and giving thanks, Jesus broke it and gave itto the disciples saying, “take and eat, this is my bodybroken for you.”
We know those words so well that wecan recite them on our lips as HolyCommunion is prepared; but do we knowwhere they came from?
Prior to his arrest and crucifixion, Jesusgathered with His disciples to share in aSeder, the Passover meal. Reflecting the history of God’slove and care for His people, the words and actions of theSeder take us back through Scripture.
Traditionally held in a home with family, you are invited tojoin the family of Christ’s United at our Seder, held onWednesday, April 1, and participate in this special serviceof Holy Week. Please register on the bulletin board orcontact the church office; a free will offering will bereceived.

Want to sing in the choir? One thing I have noticed here atChrist’s United in my almostsix months as your organist andmusic director is that this is asinging congregation. It is an exhilarating feeling for
me to fire up the organ for a hymn and hear the congregation invoice, praising our Lord. Some of the benefits of singing in a choir—you get a chance tosing different kinds of music and be with others who share asimilar interest in praising God through music. Singing canchange your brain. Musical vibrations move through you, altering your physical and emotional landscape. Group singingshares it with a roomful of people and it comes back as somethingeven more thrilling. We want to invite you to be a part of the choir here at Christ’sUnited. No auditions are required—just a desire to sing praises toour Lord through music.Even if you’re not quite sure, come and just sit in on arehearsal—observe and listen. You may even ask questions. If it’s something you want to be a part of—and we hope it is—werehearse every Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm and will welcome youwith open arms and singing voices.Choir is also a great fellowship experience as well.Hope to see you here!
