The Future Is Waiting
What if we could walk on the moon? What if we could grow food on the moon? What if we could live on the moon, what if………..?
One of the things that we need most to sustain life is water. Can we find water on the moon. The possibilities are endless. We could dig for water under the moon’s surface. We could transport water from earth but the trouble is with the costs. It is expensive to transport anything to the moon. Some scientists say that we could transport hydrogen to the moon and mix it with the oxygen there, but there’s barely enough oxygen to breath. Maybe we will recycle the water.
Another thing we need, to be able to live on the moon we need food. How can we cultivate on the moon? The moon is not meant for growing plants. Its climate and surface is not suitable and there isn’t enough carbon dioxide for plants to breath. Maybe we will transport these things or try freeze dried food.
Anywhere in the world they make buildings, houses, and homes which can withstand the climate conditions and last longer. Living on the moon, how would the shelter be? Would the buildings be big or small? Well, scientists are usually thinking of dorms which can keep the cold, heat, radiation and harmful gases away and they are thinking of inflatable buildings which will be manufactured in earth and transported to the moon. Would we have regular beds that we use everyday or enclosed beds with straps to hold us down and provide oxygen to breath.
The moon’s atmosphere is not protective like the earth’s. When the sun touches the surface of the moon it turn extremely hot. During nights, it is extremely cold. Also, the moon atmosphere is thinner than the earth’s.
What energy source would we use to generate electricity? Scientists suggest that we use solar energy to generate electricity, but electricity would not be available at night and solar panels are very expensive. Perhaps power plants or batteries would be helpful for generating electricity. Imagine high tension transmission lines on the moon.
Some people may wonder if there are any minerals on the moon. There are minerals on the moon, metals as well. If they are strong enough they can be used as materials for building buildings , or for tools and more.
The sun’s harmful radiation causes tremendous heat. Even while sending man on the moon, the most difficult challenge was to insulate from radiation. Heat was avoided by using space suits.
Imagine floating on the moon. Thegravitational force on the moon is verylow(1.622N) so if we were on the moon wewould not walk but we would be jumping.Imagine to jump higher than you have everbefore but, then how would we walk inside abuilding normally.

The life on the moon would beinteresting and adventurous with differentstyles, buildings, and new difficulties wehave to face.
