PALEOLITHIC ERAOLD Stone Age (began 750,000
years ago) Developed earliest tools:
CHOPPERS: Stone tools that were sharpened on one side and used to process food.
HAND AXE- made from stone called flint. Could be used to break tree limbs, dig, and cut animal hides.
SPEARS- Attached wood to stone to create a spear. This made hunting safer.
PALEOLITHIC ERALived in HUNTER-GATHERER SOCIETIES.They were NOMADS- people with no
settled home.They traveled from place to place in
order to hunt for animals and gather plants and berries in order to survive. Men hunted, women gathered plants and berries.
When food was hard to find, small BANDS of people would move to new areas.
Lived in CAVES if they could find them.WORKED TOGETHER TO SURVIVE!
