Excitement, that’s what I called when my friend and I arrived at Purdue University. The sun was shining, and our hearts were beating, since we are going to be the students of Purdue University. We don’t know what would happen to us. We just landed on this brand new land. At least for us, USA was the country that we never thought we would come to one day. We will have to stay here at least four years to complete our bachelor degree study, or even more. From today, our oversea life starts up.

Both my friend and I was excited about the new term in Purdue

The interior decoration of Purdue University was very beautiful and the whole building looked very clean and tidy from inside. Before I arrived at Purdue, I was thinking that buildings of Purdue may be very old and in bad shape. However, what I saw proved that I was totally wrong. The perfect interior decoration made me wonder that how could they decorate the building which has such a long his-tory? Anyway, I was amazed by the delicate decoration, strongly.

My friend and I were in the ISS office building.

Getting up at Six o’clock in the morning for my classes is something that I would never expect to happen during my student life. I have to leave my apartment even before the sunrise. I used to say that Chi-nesenese students are the hardest students around the world. However, it seems that the life of college students in U.S.A is much harder than those in China. I have to admit, when I was in China, I onlyonly have to get up at about seven o’clock in the morning for my classes. This is also something that really left me with deep impression.

It’s still dark outside, though I’m ready to go for my classes.om.

The blizzard started on Friday, January 21st. When I was waiting at the bus station and talking with my friend, I suddenly noticed that it was snowing when I saw my friends was covered by snow. Only in about five minutes, the snow was becoming even harder, with wind blowing through everyone’s face. Everyone looked anxious except me. For the reason that this was the first time I could actually experienced a snow fall.

It’s the very first time that I been experiecing such a heavy snowfall.

I was extremely surprised by the efficiency of the snow-cleaning department. Just two days after the blizzard, the road was absolutely clear and clean. The road in Purdue was very clean, left me with a deep impression the first day when I stepped into the campus. In China, however, I could always see people threw away trash wherever they want. I felt really sad about that because lotslots of people in China don’t know that it’s not the jani-tors’ but their responsibility to protect the environment that they are living in.

I was inpressed that the road was very clean and clear just after the blizzard.

Sometimes I was confused that why do I choose to study abroad, where should I go after I graduate. Study abroad is time consuming and money costing, especially for the student who are learning in ththe country that the languege peole using there is not his or her mothertougne. I have to study English as well as my major courses simultaneously in Purdue while I only need to study my major courses if I stastay in China. And now I un-derstand that one has to expe-rience different life. Not only the knowledge but also the different culture and differ-ent people. I met new friends in Purdue, some of themay even not Chinese, I now can speak English fluently, I learned something that I would never have a chance to learn in China.

People wlking over the snow, left their foot-prints, heading to different des-tinations.

There are many roads like this one among the campus. Seeing from the place where I stand, I don’t know where does the road lead to, where is the end of the road. Sometimes, I think that my life in U.S.A is just like these roads, I don’t konw where are the ends, nor do I know the destination of these roads, I will get confused at first, don’t know which road to choose. However, I just need to pick up one of them and keep going, I will get a results oneday, no matter it’s a good one or a bad one.

A path inside the campus.

The bell tower, which stands in the middle of the main Purdue campus, has become the symbol and the navigator of Purdue University. If you get lost in the campus, just look for the bell tower, you will get a brief impression of your current location. That’s what my friend tells me. I think that my life is also like walking in the campus, I will get lost sometimes, all the tough issues I need to go through drive me crazy. However, if I stand a bell tower in my mind, I will know where my dimension is, what I should do.

The Bell Tower is always the symbol of Purdue University.
