Bowlmor AMF is the largest ten-pin bowling center operator in the world with 304 locations in the U.S., eight in Mexico, and three in Canada. The company was founded in 2013 following the successful acquisition of AMF Bowling Worldwide by Bowlmor Lanes. The acquisition ushered in a new era in the company’s history, growing from six to 15 Bowlmor venues nationwide and expanding Bowlmor AMF’s combined footprint to over 270 locations. In 2014 the company acquired Brunswick Lanes for $270 million, adding another 85 centers to its portfolio. Since then, privately held Bowlmor AMF has become the largest recreational bowling company in the world with a 20% market share.
The company is currently undergoing an “all-in” reinvestment strategy focused on reinventing the bowling industry by modernizing it to suit the times. President Tom Shannon’s mission is to create hip and funky industrial spaces that serve as major entertainment destinations, strategically designed to lure millennials and the young professional.
