O HOLY NIGHT HOPE IS HERE Jesus brings hope to a weary world. Lamentations 3:20-26; Hebrews 10:23; Romans 13:11-12 Enlighten our Mind- Study the Hope Jesus brings. Lamentations 3:19-26 & Romans 13:11-12 1. Hope is most amazingly wonderful in our bleakest moments. If you’ve ever discovered hope in a time of despair, you know what a remedy Hope can be! Jeremiah describes the impact of hope in his lament over the destruction of Jerusalem in 608 BC. Identify the description of despair and hope in the verses of Lamentations 3:16-26. a. Words of DESPAIR b. Words of HOPE 2. Hope begins with a promise yet to be fulfilled. What promises is Jeremiah recalling that gives him hope? (see verses 22-25) 3. Why is it so hard to do what Jeremiah describes in verse 26? What helps you give room for hope in your hard times? Capture our Attention- a. What words best describe the moment of dawn – when the sun peaks up over the horizon and spreads light across the landscape? Draw a picture of sunrise and list three words that capture that moment. b. Share your Take-A-Way from last Sunday’s sermon. What insight or truth from the message did God allow to capture your attention? What are you doing to live out the implications of that truth? Big Idea: God is with us. In fulfilled promises, in realized dreams, and refreshed hope, God has come to be near us … with us. How could we help but sing?
