Goal of this Association is indeed to aggregate all users of LibreOffice Italian Community to accelerate the deployment and promotionof LibreOffice and all FLOSS(Free Libre Open Source Software).

Moreover the Association supports the dissemination of digital culture, Open Data Formats, Open Data and Open Knowledge.

Last year activities

some main activities brought forward by the Association in this first year:

Schools support (primary and high) on choosing Free Software to be used for didactics and administrative purposes, through workshops and free trainings;



some main activities brought forward by the Association in this first year:

Training to teachers and students on FLOSS and LibreOffice through a formative project called “Grow up with bread and free software”, included in AgID’s national platform for digital skills;



Publishing an e-book useful as a guide in schools which presents FLOSS migration’s advantages in schools and gives useful tools to adopt LibreOffice in didactics and documents management;

Production of teaching materials on LibreOffice (slides, manuals, guides and tutorials) released under Creative Commons license;



Document Freedom Day in Perugia and Mozzecane;



Attending every single event about ICT (ForumPA, Internet Festival, International Journalism Festival, etc.)

Supporting to ECDL (European Computer Driving License) based on FLOSS products through the arrangement of teaching materials, exam preparation exercises and on-line simulations;



Organization of lectures for students, parents and teachers about the importance of digital freedom;

LibreItalia annual Conference in Bologna;



Meetings with Public Administrations to promote and let them know all the advantages of migrations (RoadShow);

Promotion of meetings in schools (but not only) about conscious use of Internet targeted to parents and teachers;



“Watchdog” activity to constantly check press articles information accuracy, especially regarding migrations;

Future of LibreItalia

The number of associated increases week by week

Contacts and support requests for migrations grow as well

Autonomous Provinces of Bolzano (Bozen) and Trento are migrating according to TDF official migration protocol

SMD: Stato Maggiore della Difesa (Army, Marine, Aviation) is going to migrate

workshop to teach people how to contribute in translation and development



Subscription of an agreement between MIUR aimed to spread LiberOffice and Free Software in Italian Schools;

Organization of an important event on Open Formats aimed to let Italy be sensible on Open Document Format adoption in Public Administrations;

Creation of a guide for teachers to educate deaf people, in collaboration with a national school for deafs;

participation to a TEDX in November 5th.



Organization of short trainings for oncologic children in hospitals, in collaboration with “Chianelli” association;

Production of OnLine trainings (MOOC) on LibreOffice;

sharing of them on Didasca and Oil Project platforms;

collaboration with EiPass to create didactic materials and quiz for their certification exam;

LibreItalia annual Conference in Terni on 28th November.

Conclusions

We are satisfied since we would never have guessed to have so many members and contacts

we've been able to make so many things we'd have never imagined

all this stuff wouldn't have been possible without a right and strong communication

Italians do it better! :D
