LANZHOU AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS KINDERGARTEN DESIGN 2009 Client- Logistic Department of Lanzhou Air Force This was the first project I designed independently after graduating from university. It was not a very big project but was a great opportunity to practice my architecture knowledge and consolidate the research process, which is necessary for future career development. I researched the site and surrounding buildings, wrote a site analysis report to the Logistic department under the chief’s help. Then, I designed the whole project including master plan, floor plans, elevations, sections and form. Presentation posters, 3D models and Portfolio were made by myself as well. It was a pretty great opportunity to design a whole project for the first-year student architect.

TIANSHUI OFFICE BUILDING DESIGN 2010 Client- Logistic Department of Lanzhou Air ForceThis was my first time doing construction drawing. It was a fantastic experience and an opportunity to learn new skills. In fact, I learnt lots about construction drawing design. I drew every part of the building, including plans, elevations, sections and lots of details which involved walls, windows and materials selection, such as floors and walls of office space, toilet and staircase. Also detail draw-ings of roof and ceilings were designed by myself. I learnt a lot about construction codes.

It lasted over one year. It was a huge project, including basement parking, residential apartments, re-tails shop and office buildings. Fortunately, I followed the whole process of the project progress from negotiation with client and Urban Plan Authority to scheme design, presentation and construction drawings mapping. At the end of the project, I was promoted to project assistant on the basis of my design and communication skills.

HAN ZHONG RESIDENTIAL BUILDING DESIGN 2011 Client- Hanzhong Estate LtdThis project was located in Hanzhong city of Shanxi Province in China. I practiced my ability and that was approved throughout the Erdos residential project. This time, I was assigned to design a huge residential project with the studio’s chief who graduated from Tsinghua University and a Chinese Class 1 Registered Architect. He taught me a lot about design and management of a project. I de-signed the project, the chief supervised and guided my work . This process was a great experience of understanding architect’s practice procedure from site research, scheme design and modify to portfolio made and work presented to client.

TIELING XINQU HOUSE DESIGN 2011 Client- Tielin City GovernmentThis was a commision from Tieling City government. It was located in a new district of Tieling city in Liaoning Province of China. The government denote massive money to build a new district of the city to release population density of central city. This project was a part of the new city project, but it should have the same style as new city’s. This project included attached and free-standing houses, all of which should be German style house. So that, I focused on the design of peaked roof and win-dows division. In fact, the government gave a general intention of houses’ style -- European style. So, I did lots of research about house styles. It is a prevalent phenomenon in architecture field in China, using ‘Style’ to rule the design in specific location.

BEIJING CSEI RESEARCH CENTER DESIGN 2012 Client- Beijing CSEI Research CenterThis project was a competition among Beijing architectural design studios. The center was an of-fice-building group with a huge size of 50,000 m2. It contained some special equipment laboratories that have specific requirements for moving equipment. The difficulties were to organize an appropri-ate master plan and design a beautiful appearance of buildings along the city street. In this project, our team designed the project with traditional Chinese ‘Yuan Lin’ technique. It was a good method to organize a buildings’ group which had several different styles of courtyards. So this technique ena-bled almost all of the rooms to be available to sunshine.

CHANGSHA CITY COMPLEX BUILDING DESIGN 2012 Client- Beichen Changsha Estate LtdThis project was a pretty complex huge project (300,000m2) that was located in Changsha City Hunan Province of China. It was designed by American studio, RTKL, which is a famous design studio that has a reputation of commercial building design. Our studio’s resposibility was to cooper-ate with RTKL to finish the construction drawings. Although our studio did not design the project, the process of cooperation and construction mapping was a good opportunity to learn foreign studio’s working mode. In this project, my job was to finish construction drawing of an office skyscraper which has 80 stories, about 230 meters high with an irregularly comicalness shape. I needed to account each floor plan to cope with the morphology change from ground floor to roof. Furthermore, ac-counting the accurate position of prefabrication was necessary for later installing glass curtain wall. Another difficulty was to statistic the number and dimension of different size pieces of glasses; then, cooperating with glass manufacturer was to guarantee the accuracy of installation of glass wall.

BEIJING STARPARK BUILDING DESIGN 2012 Client- Beijing starpark LtdThis project was a huge project for me to design at that time- the third work year, because this proj-ect was a city complex group buildings.Although I attended one city complex project in Changsha before, this project, STARPARK, was still a difficult project to overcome. It was a really complex with massive various circulations and plans organisation. Furthermore, it was a design competition among Beijing design studios, our team has only 5 members. It was a challenge to design this com-plex project. My job is to plan the site and design the buildings’ morphology. Consideration of the complicated different circulations, site plan design was the most significant part of the project. Fortu-nately, our team won the first position among the competition works.
